Thank you for mentioning Aaron. He is the guy that really got me back into fishing. I took years off from fishing but saw him on MLF drop shotting and I just had to try it. I've been hooked on drop shotting since and Aaron is such a thoughtful, smart and nice guy. It really sucks that he got sick.

Anyone else start to sweat with that NRX spinning rod laying over the rail of the boat on the deck with Tim stepping all around it while landing fish on his Expride? That would be a snapped NRX on my boat........ Whew.... That said, this is one of my favorite topics. Good stuff.

Another excellent presentation. Didn’t realize that Neko, Ned and other finesse presentations are still confidence techniques. Drop shot gets boring at times.

I would humbly suggest entering the nail weight in the main body of the worm and have the "Point" of the weight stick out about an 1/8" from the head. of the worm. This definitely prevents those expensive tungsten nail weights from being thrown out of the worm, plus provides excellent bottom contact feedback due to the weight directly contacting the bottom. Great video!

2 tips for the Neko rig- 1. If you're getting snagged up a lot try moving the hook toward the middle or end of the worm- it gets the hook up off bottom more and you snag less. It also helps you not dull the point of your hook on the rocks. Because the worm is still weighted in the nose as usual, it still stands up on bottom even if you move the hook back toward the tail. It does change the way it swims when you pick it up off bottom but, that's all- otherwise it's the same action. 2. If you're having issues with your nail weight getting thrown out or falling out try inserting it the other way around. Instead of sticking it straight in the nose of the bait come in at an angle up about an inch from the head of the worm and insert it at an angle down toward the head- it will not come out now. Bonus tip- if you let just a tad of the nail weight stick out the nose it ticks on the rocks and adds an acoustical layer to the presentation. Or- try the little zman heads that insert into the nose of the worm- you need to put a dab of glue on them but they stay put once you do. You can pre-rig 2-3 worms at home and it gives the glue time to dry and air out- I go ahead and put the o-rings on to- it's ready to fish.

I've been doing really well this year on those hazedong shads. They are super finesse and versatile, but a little soft. They are great on a underspin and chatterbait trailers too. I got on a deadly pre spawn hazedong under a float bite too 😉

Maybe I’m weird but I like pulling out the finesse gear even when I don’t need to. I’ll take a 3” worm with a #4 or #6 rig N hook and a 1/32nd bullet weight over something like a spinner bait or a chatterbait.

Lots of people are not sure how to pronounce it. The Japanese pronunciation of Neko sounds like the old candy Necco Wafers. So to be correct, it’s “Neko”, not “Neeko”. Just for information purposes.
@braddistler56973 жыл бұрын
Your missing out on the 5150 worms. 4-5 types of garlic scent and I swear fish actually like to eat it. Most bites they just hold it and stay put. Super hard to feel them on until dense feeling without rock like algae feels and just start reeling. 20-30seconds to get it to take it in and after all the time I still hook top lip consistently. Az fish are pressured more than anywhere else.

Tim, tell us if you are going to Mega live and if so, how are you going to install? On the Ultrex or an independent pole, with or without foot pedal. Hear the Mega Live is just stating to hit the market in November..
@tacticalbassin3 жыл бұрын
I just got mine installed. hennesseyoutdoorelectronics.com/ right here in town by us had them in stock and they did my install. It turned out great! They set me up with an independent pole so I can still use it while spot locked. Ive only used it one day but we will be doing some videos on it soon. So far im really impressed with the ease of using it and the lack of interference from my 360.
@vinosfinostapasandwinebar51093 жыл бұрын
@@tacticalbassin thanks for the reply. I have the same issue as I use spot lock a lot. I want one with foot petals so I can point ML like a trolling motor. Look forward to your videos on this topic and any hints. I am pretty sure I bought your Mega live with all the purchases from TackleWarehouse per your recommendation. I thank you, my wife...not so much!

Looking to rebuild my rod and reel arsenal. Starting with spinning rods. Ultimately want to have 7 combos, 5 casting, 2 spinning. Already have a Zodias 7'5" Heavy casting and Expride 7'2" MH casting. I like to throw weightless wacky rig and Ned rigs when the need arises. If I had to pick one spinning rod, picking between Expride, Zodias, Intenza, and Dobyn's Fury, and you want to be reasonable on cost, but also if it's totally worth it and you should spend it, what do you go with. If you had to have one. For wacky and Ned.
@tacticalbassin3 жыл бұрын
Great idea and it sounds like you're already on your way to a really nice lineup. Out of those brands you listed, Expride is hands down the best. Id go with these bit.ly/2osaj3q 7'medium 7' light+

Tim, what’s the scoop on that IMX NRR? Preferred Length? Other techniques for that rod?

We are getting close to that time of year! Guys, I need some advice. I’m looking at buying a kick butt combo, and I already have the reel (Shimano Chronarch MGL). But, I’m having trouble settling on a rod. I’ve owned St. Croixs, so I want to go the shimano route. But I need to know. Best bang for buck, sensitivity and strength. Do I go Zodias, Expride, or Adrena?
