The last segment of the video should be an eye-opener where physical fitness is of the utmost importance. I've been in a training class, a non-shooting class, where the students go all out hand-to-hand against an opponent (in a red man suit) for at least 30 seconds and I was smoked. Great video and this serves to remind me physical fitness is of utmost important and who knows what would happen if it is combined with a shooting situation. An eye-opener for sure.
@kiethmergard3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I would be smoked after about 10 to 15 seconds. That’s why I’ve been trying to up my physical exercise. I am 35, 6 feet tall, 205. I move and have the fitness Iof a 55 to 60-year-old smoker.

Wow I really really like this style of training because I feel like any situation in real life is going to involve being stressed and out of breath (even if it’s just having high heart rate from the stress) Would love to take a class like this, is it something a beginner like me could do or too dangerous do you think? I could add running into my dry firing but don’t really have someone to “fight” me for that stress part of it.

I like the idea of aggression that you have going but technique does matter. What Jason was doing was not entirely terrible but it could possibly lead to injury and with better technique he could land more solid blows and do more damage. Why not have the maximum power and efficiency in a strike when you can just train for that instead of just starting to lack in technique.
@primecombattraining58883 жыл бұрын
We’re not training bad technique. You work on learning proper striking skills in the dojo and test them on the range. The point of this exercise is to induce some slight stress and elevate heart rate to test shooting fundamentals. As you refine your Combatives skills they will show on the range as well.

I disagree with not caring about technique. Throwing a proper punch, elbow, knee or kick is no different then proper weapon manipulation. There is much more power and accuracy then just flinging limbs around. No offense to the orange shirt guy(he’s out there training so has my respect) but not one of those “punches” would have done a single thing to an aggressive attacker. 🤷🏼♂️
@primecombattraining58883 жыл бұрын
With all due respect, no amount of kung fu will help you in combat. You are mistaking the purpose of this type of drill for martial arts training. Yes, throwing a good punch is important but that’s not what we are trying to accomplish here. This is about shooting skills and combat mindset. As we train more we also work on the Combatives side in the dojo and the technique also improves on the range. Isolation of skills is the name of the game. Work skills individually and then start combining them. Thanks for watching
@VictoryOrValhalla143 жыл бұрын
@@primecombattraining5888 first of all DONT lecture me about combat and second I never said anything about Kung fu now did I ? I said proper technique.
