I feel like if they're remaking the animations, they might as well resize the weapon models, cause covenant weapons are actually MASSIVE, and it's a massive missed opportunity by bungie to not have done it for release...

It's something that Ruby of Blue has mentioned wanting to keenly address, particularly for the Covenant weapon models, once he returns to development on Ruby's Rebalanced - Halo 3: ODST, but he's currently very wrapped up with the later stages of Ruby's Rebalanced - Halo 2 (v4.0, or perhaps "Ruby's Renovated" with how *thoroughly* he's taken to the Main Version of it), of which is receiving some expansion to the existing weapon animations courtesy of 'Echo-482' and he has previously stated wanting to make Ruby's Rebalanced - Halo 3 (v2.0) his next major project, if not other unrelated projects beforehand, so don't expect him to be doing that anytime soon.

That was such a stupid idea to say the guns were made larger for Spartans. Why make something so large that a regular soldier would find cumbersome to use? Lol. I could see Covenant weapons being larger but not unsc for an odst mod. 😅 People that know guns know how dumb this "lore" is.

I would reckon that, realistically speaking, having a reciprocating charging handle on that Assault Rifle would likely be a terrible idea as it's positioned very close to the user's face, especially if used with a cheek weld (It seems to be common feedback that many would rather have non-reciprocating charging handles, although that might be more-so for those with fore-end or side-positioned reciprocating charging handles such as the FN SCAR or the B&T APC-9, of which the latter would make non-reciprocating in later generations, especially for it's even more compact "Pro" models, rather than top-mounted ones that do reciprocate, particularly between carry-handles and/or sight-rails such as those for the FAMAS & H&K G36), but this is something that Bungie hardly cared for, even in Destiny (At least if such weapons as the Auto Rifles of old like the 'Shadow Price' still behave as I remember them doing). Nevertheless, even if I'm personally more keen on "Tactical" or "Vanilla+" than "Tacticool" (A lot of my favourite animations tend to helm from games/mods as Insurgency: Sandstorm, Killing Floor 2, Ready Or Not, Project Reality [Battlefield] and some Black Mesa, Half Life 1+2 & Left 4 Dead 2 community-authored animations), it's great to see people giving proper weapon reanimation for these games a go (I wonder if it's a particularly difficult thing to do for these games as it was seemingly an uncommon sight even in the Custom Edition days and you'll often see many quickly either porting existing animations or self-creating their own for other games, particularly for the Source Engine) and really giving the "mag swap" & "weapon empty" their due distinction that Halo 2, Halo 3 & Halo 3: ODST notably lacked. Plus, it is wonderful to see people giving the likes of the Battle Rifle back it's full-and-proper H&K Slap of old (It doesn't matter how great the Anniversary & Infinite Battle Rifles are, I still lament that they do not include the charging handle lock-back that even the modern Desert Tech Bull-Pup Rifles provide as I still miss the full-and-proper H&K Slap of Halo: Combat Evolved & Halo 2 [E3 2003 & Restored]).

Glad to see a fellow H&K slap enjoyer. I actually was hoping to do that for the AR too but it didn't have the same design as the CE one. I have never tried doing animations on other games so can't really tell. But boy, was it difficult to find the right places for information to import/export, and how some weapons like the needler worked and such. Tedious would be a better way to describe it, but once you get it, it's pretty straightforward

These animations are impressive. While I'm not a fan of all of them, I think overall it's really good. I do kind of dislike the Sniper Rifle idle anim though, Bungie was pestered specifically not to include a similar animation in Halo CE by Robert McLees because adjusting the scope and losing your zero wouldn't make much sense for a SpecOps unit like a SPARTAN.

In slow motion it is very noticable that magazine that odst throws away flies back into his hand and gets inserted. So you just use same magazine again

Fun fact, the Automag in retail MCC actually has more recoil than the 360! Because of higher tick rates, recoil is accelerated and jumps higher than the 360 did, which was like half of that.

Id kinda prefer it without the flare. This is supposed to be humanities last days, worst case scenario the covenant have found earth and are actively glassing it. Any semblance of ego should be dropped and the whole setting should have a feeling of gravity to it

Just like the non existing ego that's clearly not there with the police officer who betrayed his team, or the serious gravity with Romeo not talking to Buck until "permission granted to speak." Or the ODSTs making sly comments about Dare as Earth is being attacked. Or Buck and Dare going back and forth right as they both land after slipspace scattered them throughout the city. Or the "you wanna do this? Be my guest" when Mickey is arming the explosives with back and forth dialouge with Dutch. All of the goofy zippy one liners Buck has for the alien engineer. How about as someone already mentioned Dare punching and then kissing Buck right as they see Covenant cruisers flying over the city...yeah definitely no ego and complete serious tone all over this game haha 😆 It's either you never played the game or skipped all of the cutscenes and get worked up over a fun animation. 😄

Warhammer 40k really made me realize the true horror of a plasma weapon. Those things are technically shooting miniature suns at the target. Yet that sheer power, radiation and ungodly heat as never been properly translated in Halo.

@ disappointing, because I had follow up questions as to what being the neighbour of the beast was like. Is it a cordial relationship, where the beast mows your lawn, or is the beast a literal beast that shits on your lawn and refuses to pick it up. And how does his relationship as the beasts neighbour affect their standing with the 144,000 saints 🤔I was even going to suggest a hat as a good housewarming gift for a seven headed creature….

No, it was one of the details removed from game after the stress test Beta on Valhalla and everyone starting with ARs. It became inconsistent visually so was made static. It looked pretty bad since it's a detail in front of people's eyes. Bungie had a series of podcasts post H3 launch and mentioned details needed to be removed to make the game as stable as they could. Explosions were also diminished in detail.

They feel super floaty and weightless; it's pretty common for amateur animators or people who just aren't very familiar with the fact guns have weight. You're also _definitely_ not ejecting a case with that anemic little pump, either; the pump is traveling maybe half an inch and yet somehow I'm meant to believe that's enough to eject a three inch shell?

They're also really slow sometimes. ODST's are spec-ops second only to the Spartans but these animations have them screwing around and taking their time even just taking the mags out. In the middle of a firefight, you've got better things to be doing, you're carrying out routines that've been drilled into you for years and these guys are risking the extinction of all humanity if they don't stop the Covenant where they are. A professional isn't someone who can do those cool tricks. A professional's someone who knows they're a bad idea in the first place, because one fuckup and your gun's flying out of your hand and now your situation's even worse.

The occasional moment of human interaction doesn't remotely compare to the 99% of the game that's just gameplay, which these animations pertain to. The game's not a milsim, but these animations do not fit the tone. I'll thank you to knock off the patronizing bullshit and hold some modicum of civility, else don't bother responding.

im having trouble putting the halo reach mythic overhaul in the vortex mod manager. It said drag halo reach folder from the mod into the game folder. Does he mean drag the whole folder into the game folder or just the halo reach folder inside it.

Nope, not at all. I just don't know how to export/import audio and I had to try my best to get the files there are to match. Of course, it's still very noticeable. Sorry for that, I know it's very off putting
