The shield 9mm is the best entry carry gun used imo. I've seen them recently going for 300. Mine has been extremely reliable unless I'm shooting it offhand without enough grip on it, but otherwise it's nearly as reliable as any glock i've ever owned. A shield and a 9mm carbine like a pc carbine and reloading equipment could build a lot of practice reps for pistol and rifle and competition

To add to de-escalation/other methods of avoiding self defense scenarios: Was out running errands and some guy at the store I was at kept bothering me and trying to pick a fight and in the probably 10 seconds as it was happening it escalated fast enough to the point I thought I may have to defend myself if it kept up at that rate. But I had the opportunity at that place to just walk out since I hadn't picked up anything to purchase yet and I just immediately turned a corner and then walked through to the door, past a few people and to my car. Didn't need to sprint or anything, just put some distance between myself and some stupid asshole. I think people hear the phrase 'running away' when it comes to a self-defense scenario and think it means after active threats to your safety have been deployed. But most of the time, in my opinion, it just means recognizing the signs of what's happening, excusing yourself, and walking away. It's worked at rowdy bars, walking on the street, and in very public places where I can get myself lost in a crowd and make it a hassle for people to follow me. 'Running away' is often just walking away,

People underestimate how much benefit there is in just walking off. No pigs or arrests (even if you're completely in the right) which protects your equipment from being taken, lawyer expenses and the disruption of an arrest. Minimized personal risk. You won't have a human life on your conscious. Even if other human lives aren't factored, an orderly retreat is almost always a superior option to fighting of some kind.

There is a lot of ways to find cheap glocks that don't involve the blue label like police trade-ins, used guns at gun stores and internet forums. Some people take trades and sometimes you can trade items that you no longer use but have value like a bike or gun parts. As for the astigmatism topic I recommend people see an eye doctor on how to correct their astigmatism. My astigmatism is bad but when I have corrective glasses on it is minimized a bunch. Making sure your eye glass prescription is up to date will make sure you have the best vision possible.

I have kind of the same take on PCCs as you. I mean, they seem fun, but I just don't see any practical value in having a pistol caliber carbine when I already have a pistol and a carbine. Plus, if I was going to get one, I'd want to get a sub-16" barrel, and then I'd probably have to deal with the ATF, and it just seems like a massive pain in the ass for very little return on investment.
@thebeardprevails524610 ай бұрын
Piggybacking on you: A fullsize PCC probably doesn't make sense, but if you can get into something more PDW, I think there is a use case. Pistols are really only suitable for very close range for most people, and even small carbines are quite large. I recently was able to shoot a surplus browning hi-power with the wooden stock/holster attached and adjustable sights. I was able to consistently make hits on steel just because of that shoulder stock. To be able to stretch out to 100 and beyond with something that compact is pretty cool if your use case involves keeping weight and bulk at a minimum while maintaining as much functionality as possible.

Holy cow was the political take bs. esp. from the question, but also a bit from the answer. - not everything trying to protect is "right" or "alt" - the overtone window is shifted ESPECIALLY by the left - by far ! (esp. considering most "mainstream" media outlets are more left leaning) - the gun community is not as split as the political community, since the "middle" is far less political than the extremes. - the left extreme is FAR worse than the right extreme in respect to false information - as in the harm the false information can do. (not the amount of false information though) TLDR: both sides are bad. but phrasing the question to "blame" one side is already the political activism that is splitting the world and the communities. why cant people attack the argument any more? just say "oh, there is a split in the gun community, what is your view on that"

Oh so PCC's are useless but you love lever action rifles ? Eww 🤮
@TacticoolGirlfriend10 ай бұрын
Dang, people are really taking my personal preferences personally. There's a reason I own neither - I don't think either are practical for me. They're both fun though, and it's why I had both a P90 and a lever action on my bucket list.
@dannybeeson508410 ай бұрын
The case for PCCs has always been limited. For people who are limited in the amount of training time available a PCC CAN make sense. A long gun is easier to learn to point accurately and using a frangible pistol round limits overpenetration. It's a compromise option though. A PCC isn't concealable like a pistol and doesn't have the firepower of a rifle. Leverguns are and always will be cool. Hard to beat a lever in 44-40.
@frankiem74910 ай бұрын
Level action rifles are the original PCCs. Lighter, more compact, easy to handle versions of heavy calibers. A 45-70 gov kicks likes a wild mule however a 45 colt feels like being hit with a pillow. The only downside is that they're not any modern caliber lever guns. If a 9mm, 10mm, 40 cal, 380 etc. were available then I feel more people would have lever guns. They're just fun to work like a pump shotgun or a manual transmission.
@bhtooefr10 ай бұрын
@@frankiem749There is the POF Tombstone in 9mm. (However, part of the appeal of the lever gun is the tubular magazine, and AFAIK that works better with rimmed ammo. So, the Tombstone uses a box magazine.) Also, there are plenty of rifle-caliber lever guns - in addition to the traditional round nose rimmed cartridges like .30-30 and .45-70, there's a few designs like the Browning BLR, the Henry Long Ranger, and the Bond Arms LVRB that use box magazines in modern rifle calibers. (The LVRB uses an AR-15-compatible lower, so if an AR-15 upper exists for a caliber, it uses a bolt that fits in a standard AR-15 bolt carrier, and it uses a magazine that fits in a STANAG magwell, it can chamber it.) And, if you want to count .30-06 as modern (I mean, it's rimless and has Spitzer bullets...), the Winchester 1895 counts as well.
