I have to agree Matt - $300 is steep for what you get. I also have to agree with your thoughts on indoor cycling - if I'm on the road, I'm out before 06:00 to miss the traffic; if I miss that slot, I'll just jump on the Wattbike. Great video as always.

@@mlegrand I'm hanging in there mate - or doing my best. Yep, those early mornings are a challenge and they don't sound like a good idea when you're laying your kit out the night before. The reward is a workout done before 08:00 and feeling good for the rest of the day. But I wouldn't say you need to toughen up - we all train at the time of day that's right for us.

Well, my opinion on price isn’t really valid I guess since I don’t have a Neo (I use a Kickr), but $300 would be a deal breaker for me. Honest question though - I’ve seen tons of homemade rocket plates on Facebook groups that have a small footprint (just under the trainer itself), offer rocking and often that PLUS fire/aft, and almost 1/2 the cost, so why aren’t those more prevalent? Does Tacx/Garmin/Wahoo say those will void warranties? As usual, great video and review.

Thanks Tom! Great question. My guess is that the DIY community will jump on this and put together some guides for far less than $300. But we'll see.

I have the tacx flux so this is no good for me and many others with the flux but guess what bought two garden kneeling mats from the local garden centre $10 put them under the flux feet and that seems to work fine although this translates to a side to side motion which in my mind is more like the movement you get when out on the road

$10 vs $300 😬 Sounds like you've found a good deal. I do like the feel of these. I just wish the price were a touch better. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

Oh this looks very interesting!!!!! Were you using a slider for the opening sequence? :38-:55ish minutes. Does your bike always point right? I swear it looks different! The arrows seem really helpful, love the musicclip. Made me giggle, those take forever to find, but has a really nice effect here. That's a NARROW wheel plate. NO SPRINTING!? What's even the point!!!! (jokes aside, I can hit 600 watts...on a good day!) What's your percentage of time spent inside riding? The lighting you used is really good, setting the mood with those blues and yellow-redish colors. Well done!
@mlegrand2 жыл бұрын
Yes on using a slider! I honestly don't love indoor riding. I keep telling myself I need to learn to love it. Maybe some day I'll force myself to get into something like zwift racing? I don't know. . . Some day I'll love it. Some day.

Is the purpose to give you a better sensation of actual motion? I think not having a place to set up a trainer permanently causes the point of something like this to be lost on me. (Ironically, I'm just too lazy to pull out, set up, ride on, break down, and put away a trainer; what a hassle!) It does seem, to my uneducated mind, that $300 is a bit steep for what seems to be just a rocker base for a trainer. Then again, trainers, like pretty much everything triathlon related, go for quite a premium, so I guess motion plates should to. I dig the videography in this one, much like all your videos. Keep on keepin' on, my friend!
