The King Dome, the Burlington Northern, Alaskan Way Viaduct, all gone now. Seattle was awesome in the summer of 1990. TAD is just great!

Found Tad through looking through some 'proto-grunge' collections on KZbin. So underrated, and such good albums. Leafy Incline and this are my two favourite 'have on repeat' tracks.

Tad were always my fave. Saw them in Belfast and TD invited the entire audience back stage for a share of his bottle of Jack. A good guy.

I never knew about this video.. looks like some of the extras (bums?) were in the 'Stumblin' Man' video too... which was probably filmed at the same time due to train tracks being in that one also...The early Tad videos were exremely GRUNGY to say the least. MTV wasn't playing stuff like this at the time.. they wanted pretty boys and slick produced videos... i wanted videos like this! Oh well.

how the fuck could this video been rejected from MTV? its so good, and the songs even better
@andrewbrissart18906 жыл бұрын
puppeteers420 it was actually the Wood Goblin's music video they rejected , they said it was "too ugly" . That song is way heavier than this one , still great music nonetheless m

LOL early 90's? i saw them open up for primus in chicago. i had never heard them before either. they set up their own equipment, but i thought they were the road crew until they started rocking!

I remeber seeing this video at least half a dozen times on MTV back in the day. Almost always on 120 minutes, but at least 1 time on Alternative Nation (with Kennedy). And once in the afternoon right before Remote Control (?????).

Tad was easily one of the best in the whole "grunge" era. Doesn't hurt that Mr. Doyle is orginally from liitle ol' Boise neither. He may have grown up in Nampa actually. Jack Pepsi lyrics involve Lake Lowell which is about a mile from my parents house. Butchers rule!

Great commentary on those who shudder in fear of the homeless and the fringe element of society.

Great tune, with a lot of melody yet really rough and authentic: a gem from the Pacific Northwest. TAD surely deserve to be better known. As for the video, it may not be a masterpiece, but I've seen far uglier stuff around.

Eh it actually is a masterpiece.

the rejected video was ACTUALLY Wood Goblins. Kurt (the bassist) actually clears that up in the TAD documentary "Busted Circuits and Ringing Ears". Kurt mentions that mtv tried to save face by basically saying that they were going to go ahead and 'show the video anyway', but they show Plague Years instead. it's a much less "ugly" video than Wood Goblins and MUCH more tame, especially by TAD's standards. nice try though, mtv. Today's rock music couldn't hold a candle to TAD.

Thank god we basically don't have rock music in this day and age. It had a good run, sure, but like all good things, everything must die.

How is this offensive and a video like "Heart Shaped Box" by Nirvana allowed to air constantly on MTV in 1994? That seems like it'd be one of the most offensive videos ever made. Not to say I didn't like it, but I'm always amazed how they got away with the crucifixion "theme". Maybe because they were one of the top grossing artists at the time?

It's easy to see why this video was rejected after reading some comments and thinking about it. The lead singer was fat, and not some dreamy, beautiful, perfect body like most of the other grunge icons. MTV is a fucking fashion show, it has NOTHING to do with music or artists.

yes it true. Mtw is stupid to reject this video... This song is awesome and his voice too, and they have a lot of awesome songs... :) True grunge, has much more quality than Nirvana... I hope you all agree if you know grunge scene..:!?!?!?
