Honestly super boring with the small time gains, I really don't like attacks last 500 Meters. But I gotta say, its incredible how Pogacar can put out 400 meter sprints, I don't think we've ever seen any cyclist do that before? Anyways I can't wait for the real Mountain stages, with more than 1 mountain.

Tadej is patient and in this stage and the next, I believe, he just wants to nibble at Jonas’ lead. He is looking to be wearing the yellow jersey at the end of Sunday’s stage. What an exciting week-end this is going to be. Jonas is clearly struggling to match Tadej’s brutal attacks. I am putting my money on the Slovenian.

Jumbo must step up the game the next two days and drive rock hard on all the climbs to try to wear Pogacar out. This has been the formula to crack Pogacar in the past, not explosive climbs. If Jumbo can't do that without using Jonas himself to do the work as he did on the Tourmalet stage, Pogacar will win as he will keep gaining seconds in the sprints and shorter explosive climbs. Van Aert is a shadow of his 2022 form, and that may be the difference...

Yeah, Pogi is gnawing the time gap little by little in these explosive stages that suit him better, but I believe that one single brutal attack will be enough for Jonas to crack Pogi and gain in one shot 30" - 1'00" in the next stages, which are more suitable for Jonas. From today's stage jonas is still in good form, he held the wheel of tadej longer than last time. So in tomorrow stage if he recovers well there is a chance he drops everyone. They probably didn't want Yates to go so Pogi didn't have help up the road in case he attacked earlier than he did. They wanted to keep the group together as long as possible to keep Pogi's gains to a minimum. Vingegard can win 1 min on one stage, and Pog needs 3 good stages in 10 days to catch up to him? My thoughts are, Vin is preparing for another brutal attack on upcoming stages. He is probably resting his legs one bit, for one day, when he will go all in again, and drop Pog for 30sec + or God forbid, break him. We just don’t want their gap to go over 1.5min. Vive le Tour!

Why would Pogacar attack early? It's a short stage and there was not much climbs beforehand. All GC riders were quite fresh. There was shallow gradient in large portion of final climb where draft is important. Anyone attacking early will get reeled back by the group. Only final 500 metres were steep enough to launch a proper attack. This was the UAE plan from begining - get some bonus seconds and few extra seconds on the road. They excuted their plan almost perfectly, except they did not get the stage win.

As others have said, I don't think Pog broke V on this climb. He has the greater kick and used this in a smart way to gain a few seconds. Yes it is a mental win for him and another blow for V, but it wasn't exactly a destruction. One of them needs to go off like Froome did on Ventoux. Several km from the top and then just keep pushing and pushing until your closest challenger can no longer hold the wheel. I am hoping V wins this, as I honestly just get annoyed by a rider who can do just about every discipline better than anybody else.

the tour was always gonna be Pog v Vin for the GC it was just a case of how close ?...9 secs now and both looking up for it, that Pog explosion is something to behold but Vin just keeps going and limits any damage that Pog can dish out. I would slightly favour Pog for overall victory at the moment, he seems to be getting stronger....but on a good day Vin can break Pog on a long climb, so its all set up nicely. Guess we expect it to be decided on a mountain stage but maybe the time trial may end up being the real breaker !

LMAO... what a clickbait title. I guess a 4/5 second gap is "breaking" someone

Pogacar should have gone earlier and picked up more time. 450m from the finish is not long enough. 1km or 2km would have been smarter and he would be in yellow today.

4 seconds??? Ummm, not much of a break. He should’ve attacked earlier. He needed to put more time into him. Waited too long to turn on the turbos.

Massive attack?? The whole day UAE awas chasing and 500 meters before finish Pogi attacks. He should have done way earlier. This stage sucked big time.

Thermonuclear attack by Pog, racing past the breakaway riders as if they were standing still. Unlike last year's Tour, this time is is able to distance Jonas, though not by that much. Maybe it will be the time trial that will decide the yellow jersey.
