A lot of the singers who may be technically better than Taeyeon tend to add in unnecessary runs that just come off as ostentatious and annoying, or modulate the notes that are already in the song during live performances to just be like, "hey, look what I can do!" Taeyeon just sings the song straight, and sings it with an extraordinary gift of emotion. Sometimes she does runs, but they never feel like she's just showing off. That's why she's my favorite vocalist in pop music right now.

Except those of us who are vocally trained (not by the pop industry but actual doctorate voice professors) know that people get vocal nodules in the first place because of unhealthy singing habits. Rarely rarely rarely ever is a person simply born with vocal nodules. Some develop them by speaking/singing too soon after recovery from a serious illness, but in Tiffany's case, she pushes too much and she tries too hard to make her voice sound huskier than it already is. Personally, I think if she cut back on these 2 things, she would still sound great and her vocal cords would be grateful for the less straining. People often mess up their vocal cords from too much pressure on trying to make their voice sound a certain way. I like to use Jessica as an example of a good vocalist because I hate the way her voice sounds (high and rather nasally), but she sings with the voice God gave her. Sure, I hate the sound of her voice, but she's a good singer because she works with what it is. I love the natural sound of Tiffany's voice. She just needs to let go of feeling the need to apply so much pressure to make it sound stronger. That's all. But, I do agree that there are many who will comment and simply say, "She sucks." Those people are just plain rude.

OMG gotta love these girls. They are cleverly matched vocally - Taeyeon with her dulcet, technically superb and sweet vocals and Tiffany with her soaring belting yet subtle vocals - just perfect for this song. Tiffany is a real performer and lives each song and Taeyeon conveys emotion and intense feeling at every note. The melody is very catchy and convincing - they are really "lost in love". I think Tiff's dress is more avante garde - and really anything goes in the pop world. It's all art!

Liwiaa LJ Jessica has the highest voice in the group, with the best vibrato. Sorry hun, Jessica is a a lot better than her. Does that mean tiffany is bad? NO! Jessica is the second main vocalist in the group and thats that. Just cuz you don't wanna believe doesn't mean it's not true.
