You are right. Apparently they had an argument before going on stage about choreography and JK went a little to far with Tae. So Tae got upset and Suga took Tae's side because he knew happened and felt JK was in the wrong. Otherwise he wouldn't have stepped in.

Otherwise he just supports and lets do their own things without interference.
