Let's be real, they a switch couple... but just in terms of relationship dynamics, Tae is in charge (but not very strong on making sure he always is, he's kind of a soft dom), he gives off a much more domineering aura which Kook always ends up surrendering to. Some of the shit that Tae pulls on Kook would never happen if he were submissive.

main ones are when jk was annoying tae by tapping on his chair at some award show in which tae responds to by grabbing jks crotch, when jk was kneeing taes butt at ISAC and tae turned around and grabbed him by the collar and in one interview tae places his hand on jks thigh, jk very notably stiffens up, a clear sign of being submissive in that situation and a dom would likely not let that happen. there are plenty more i assure you but these are the first three that come to my mind atm

Remember that 2017 MAMA awards where Tae and JK did their handshake on the big screen for everyone to see? Tae looked so shy while smiling but JK looked hella smug about it. Normally, Tae is someone who can look smug at will (we see his smug and sexy expressions at their concerts all the time) but that moment really felt like a Dom!JK moment. Also, JK revealed in front of the other guys that he is the hyung in Taekook’s relationship. I don’t think someone dominant would be content with that revelation. By revealing that bit of info, JK kinda stripped Tae of his authority. Don’t you think so?

Nirrini I agree with the shift mid-2017, but I more so think its with Tae's personality than with their relationship dynamic. Tae seems a lot more reserved and mature from this period and although he still does muck around with the others, it's far less than it used to be. And no denying that Kook also has his dom moments, or perhaps it would be better to say 'leading' moments, I really don't see a strong dom/sub dynamic in their relationship (the whole idea of dom/sub is more of just a fanfiction fantasy thing to begin with). But I do still think Tae has slightly more authority over Kook (which is probably more of an age thing than anything), one of the really obvious recent moments is in Run!BTS episode 55 (i think) where the maknae line + Hobi are playing games on the floor and Tae demands Kook to get up and sit next to him and he complies immediately. I've never actually heard anyone express an opinion similar to this before so I might be alone in this, but since Tae has matured (mid 2017) I've kinda viewed him as more 'dominant' than before, but everyone sees it as the opposite so I could be reading it wrong. I generally view the more mature one as the leading one as they often guide the more playful one, even if it wasn't obvious. Even though Tae had a very playful exterior pre-2017, I still saw him as having a very mature and throughful interior which has started to really show as of recent, and I always saw him, VERY much in the beginning, almost guiding and helping mold Kook as a person, Kook even said himself that he feels he is a combination of all his hyungs but he's most similar to Tae. Now I kind of see him kind of stripping of his playfulness a bit (whether thats just him growing up or another reason, I don't know and its none of my business anyway), but this has just made him more 'dominant' imo. I dunno if you get where I'm coming from, but this is how I see it, but admittedly I could just be misinterpreting, I'm no 'body language expert' or anything like all those youtubers claim. Regarding the Kook 'hyung' situation, I'd always viewed it as a joke.Tae was being super serious about how he felt and I saw Kook just not knowing how to respond so he turned it into a comical situation (again, I might have been misinterpreting but I myself struggle with being able to respond to other peoples heartfelt compliments, especially if I'm not alone, so I would have likely cracked a joke as well) so I don't think Tae would have really cared all that much, likely not thinking anything of it (I really don't think its a super defined dom/sub thing, Tae just has more of a leading personality, something more often attributed to extroverts). I just think they have a very close relationship where the whole 'hyung' dynamic isn't really prevalent. So no, I wouldn't say that Kook necessarily 'stripped Tae of his authority' in this situation but he has DEFINATELY done it before, both pre and post 2017, the 2017 MAMA handshake is one of those.

Personally, I believe Taehyung is a dom I only know Mainly Top Kook supporters and I see their reasoning as Jungkook is kind of lots of muscle and “overpowering” Tae at times but I think that when you really look at it, Tae is kind of in charge of the relationship and the one who’s able to dominate. I think, just really look at the little details. Tae has more of a reputation for simply being weird and cute while Jungkook nowadays is more the muscle man (but still a baby, of course). I'm not good for expressing myself in English but in my point of view Tae is top and Jungkook is a bottom why? in my opinion, Taehyung is dom/top, why? ok first of all, yes, kook has way more muscles than Taehyung, and yes he is way stronger. BUT, that doesnt mean anything on who tops and bottoms, it's the personality that does. В силу своей эмоциональной закрытости, Чонгук просто пророс в Техена, он стал его частью, это хорошо видно в первые годы после дебюта. Что может значить для брошенного ребенка такая сильная привязанность к нему? Когда Техен сам неоднократно говорил, что ещё со времени до дебюта они с Чонгуком на одной стороне против всех. Техен для Чонгука - центр его вселенной, он безусловно важен, он половина его души. Техен в Чонгуке нуждается не меньше, в его безусловной привязанности, граничащей с одержимостью. А по поводу доминантности Техена, могу сказать, что согласна с утверждением, что социальная жизнь и интимная, суть вещи разные. I think Jungkook tops. Tae sometimes shows a more dominant feature in his behavior, but to me, it just seems like he’s showing that no one can take Jungkook away from him. Jungkook can act like a baby sometimes, but then again, all of them do at some point. I feel like Taehyung was the dominant when they were younger, that would make sense to me, but once Jungkook started growing up, he became less shy, and more out there. I think it was at that point that Tae’s topping life was over.
