Watch the first BOEING 787 Dreamliner with AUSTRIAN Livery land at Vienna Airport`s Runway 16 and receive a WATER SALUTE by the fire brigade in the early evening of June 20th 2024.
Austrian Airlines is receiving a total of 11 aircraft of this type, gradually replacing the airline`s aged fleet of long haul aircraft comprising of Boeing 777 and Boeing 767 jets. This jet used to be in service with Bamboo Airways in Vietnam before. On June 20th, it flew to Vienna from Teruel.

Delivery flight from Turuel in Spain ( stored ) , Is a 5 years age plane ( almost new ) to replace some of the aged B767 ( avg 25 years old ) .On first days of joining the Austrian fleet is making only shorts flights from Vienna to Berlin, Frankfurt … probably for to crew get familiar with the new big bird before long hault flights to North America and Asia.

Sorry to say... but if it's Boeing I'm ain't going! I wish our National Carrier Austrian would be independent from LH and able to choose Airbus A330Neo or A350 for long haul flights! 🤷

@@FsSkira No. It is officially 787-8/9 and 10. Same with the 737-7/8/9 and 10. Only Airbus is still using 3 digit numbers for their planes. You can check this on the Boeing webpage.

@@FsSkira Yes. The 737NG still have 800. But Boeing changed this and the new 737Max have now only 7/8/9 and 10. Same with 747-8 and 787-8/9/10.
