I'm sure I've told you this before, but Taemin has a fetish for guns and things that go BOOM! Everytime there is a SHINee video with guns, they are ALWAYS in Taemin's hands...."Tell Me What To Do" and "Get the Treasure" are perfect examples. Then, of course, we have some of Taemin's other solo videos such as "Famous" and his 2014 debut song, "Danger" coupled with his iconic live performance of "Danger" that is a MUST for any Taemin fan: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3-xfmecnZyYoaM . He would probably never be allowed to do such a spectacular performance now with all the anti-gun propaganda. The roaring crowd is a testament that SM choosing Taemin as their first-ever male soloist from a boy group was their second best decision. (Putting SHINee together was their first.) Keep in mind that this live performance was just a few short months after Taemin's solo debut. This MV was the first to portray Taemin's constant dilemma with his duality of celebrity/non-celebrity and the temptations that constantly lure him away from his ideal self. Being a Christian causes him to always be in conflict between the two. Does he stay true to his faith and the morals that involves or can he fully embrace all the temptations like pride, egotism, materialism, (add the 7 deadly sins) that often accompany such a lifestyle. If you watch the MV carefully, you will see instances of where Taemin actually trades places with the girl as the victim. We see this duality play out in much of his successive MVs, including his entire 2020 album, "Never Gonna Dance Again". In "Criminal" Taemin is both villain and victim with the concept of Stockholm syndrome. In "IDEA" we see him use depictions of heaven and hell as the backdrop to illustrate the push/pull of his consciousness and search for his "idea" of his perfect self; his Messiah. The following 2021 epilogue album, "Advice" is where he finally comes to terms with who he really is -- a blending of all his characters who remain true to his faith yet realizing no one is perfect in this world. Therefore, from now on, he will disregard the inner voices in his head that cause doubt, as well as any hateful comments/criticisms from others, and do as he pleases within his own moral code. Regarding the plethora of blue roses, they also appear in Taemin's, "Sayonara Hitori" MV. I believe the choice is significant to Taemin because of their meaning: "secrecy, mystery, impossible, beyond, enigma, and pride". However they can also mean "unrequited love" or "a true love that is unique, rare, and special". The first meaning could be a reflection of Taemin himself and the second could be what Taemin is yearning for in a partner. Just my speculations.
