Ok I have a question: I was able to connect the Orba to Garage Band and use it as a midi controller. However I came back the next day and it wasn't playing the various instruments as a midi controller. It seems like the Orba is having issues with holding its firmware. After removing the Orba from Garage Band the first night, it wouldn't produce any sound until after I reset the firmware. Anyways if there is something I'm missing in terms of getting to control instruments within GarageBand that would be very helpful information. Many thanks !

this is like the coolest thing that is priced like you don't really need to think about it too much. Even buying this as a toy for a creative person that hasn't tried making music it would be a dope ass toy that wouldn't be a waste of money and could potentially inspire them into the world of music creation... although these days that is more about researching what is snake oil or not lol... from the basics of this and the price this is so far from that. The shaker thing as well is so cool, so simple but so cool. I mean the modulation sliding and tilting will make this something for creating original things quite easily, but the simple little things will give it that sheen edge to create something sounding well put together... without breaking the bank or the pocket... insanely portable

I assume the sounds we are hearing are NOT the sounds the Orba is capable of making, but sounds from a DAW, correct? I'd be interested in seeing what Orba's built in synth can do. Can it recreate any realistic analog instrument sounds? (strings, horns, drums, piano, etc).

I'm so happy to see people besides artiphone making videos about Orba, great video!! Artiphon's videos are great for getting excited about the product, but don't have many specifics. I've been following Orba for a while, but haven't been able to find definite answers to a couple questions I had. The big one is if you can change the chords from the app or computer program. There's probablly a way to do it in Ableton or something, but I wondered if you could play whatever chords you want without having to be hooked up to a computer. Also, can you decide which scale the lead part is based on? I couldn't tell from anything I've seen. Thanks!
@Taetro4 жыл бұрын
right now in the desktop app you can set the key (minor or major) and choose your root note - these will be the same across the modes. Can't customize or change the chords yet but hopefully they'll add that in the future. Thanks so much for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed :)

From what I've seen (waiting for it to arrive!) each button is a note in a diatonic scale. Combinations of buttons switch between sounds and start/stop looping. Simple (but effective) sounds built in, more possibilities if you use it as a MIDI controller for some other MIDI expander..
