BRO you oughtta know who Taeyang and just the entirety of BIGBANG are. They were the OG. Imagine the times way before BTS were everywhere. That's when BIGBANG was everywhere (2006-2015ish). They were the definition of kpop and in many ways started so many things that we enjoy now in kpop. • They were the first ones to create official fandom light sticks for the groups (you probably have seen the flashlight-looking balls on sticks, called army-bomb, that you see fans waving at the concerts that can turn different colors), with G-Dragon designing them personally • They were known for their eccentric hair colors and flashy outfits that change every comeback and soon after every group started following them. Before that, people would usually have a chic, metallic, or classic 2010s era looks, but then BIGBANG came along looking out of this world. People ridiculed them on that at first, but then of course the whole industry started following that • The iconic airport fashion trend that's just a thing to do now for idols was started by G-Dragon, when he would rock up in drippy ass shit to the press at the airport, people started talking about it. I mean the man was so drippy, the fashion brands started to pay attention to the kpop idols and he (if I'm not mistaken) was the first one to become a brand ambassador for a major brand (Channel) BRO I'M JUST SCRATCHING THE MOTHER EFFIN SURFACE! The iconic MADE album just birthed SOOOOO many styles in kpop, releasing an MV for every song, with every one of them being a major hit on the charts (still just pure bangers to this day) and just so UGHHHH... SO GOOD! They basically were just pure kpop soul of that generation and any kid in Korea wanting to be idol looked up to them, and many current kpop idols just front and center say "yep BIGBANG is what inspired me to become an idol". Hell, look at Jimin. Ever since debut, he talked about how Taeyang inspired him and how he wanted to be as cool as Taeyang, and you can see it, you can see how so much of Taeyang's style rubbed off of Jimin
