Wow! So all she did was record her vocals over the song and "select" it for her album? How does this make her any different from KZbin cover artists? I know SM buys demo but at least they should change the melodies on the songs because why does this sound 99% similar to the original. No wonder Taeyeon stays with SM because she needs the company to find "hits" for her like "Fine" and "INVU".

I know what a demo is and I AM criticizing her for relying on demos and not writing her own songs. 2 months ago when I wrote that comment I didn't know how SM artists made their albums and I used to think their idols actually had a hand in making the songs so I was disappointed to know that all they do is buy demos from songwriters and add Korean lyrics to them with few changes in mixing. Taeyeon has written lyrics for 4-5 songs in her 17 years long career as an idol and she has produced exactly one song so she isn't an artist she's a vocalist and performer who needs SM's A&R to find good songs for her which she later uses to make her own album. This is the formula SM uses for most of their artists except few like Taeyong, Chanyeol who write their own songs so its more of a company problem than a Taeyeon problem but it doesn't change the fact that she relies on SM's A&R machine to give her good songs than someone like IU who makes her own music.
