Noah that wasn't Neil nor Macca singing. That was Shakin' Stevens, he was very popular in the 80's and that song gets played all the time at christmas...every single shop plays it over and over again. :)

Love all things Neil did in Art Attack especially Christmas specials! The one he did in 1998 while in New York city making a Santa and Reindeer picture on the buildings using controlled lights was brilliant! Check that one out!

Kind of surprised you haven't heard Shakin' Stevens - 'Merry Christmas Everyone' before, over here it's been replayed every year just as much as 'Fairytale of New York' or 'All I Want for Christmas is You' since the mid 80s! I can sort of see the Paul McCartney comparison in his vocals, however Stevens made intentionally retro 50s rock & roll style music in the 80s, so I suppose his sound was a bit of a mix between McCartney and Elvis?

I loved Art Attack as a child, apart from that talking head statue which used to creep me out big time! The Christmas episode that I remember though is one where he travelled to New York and managed to create a spectacular picture of Father Christmas from the building lights on the New York skyline. Best one he has done by far in my opinion.🧑🎄🧑🎄🧑🎄

Didn't know Art Attack was still on in 2005. It was essential viewing as a kid in the early 90s. Nice to see a later episode from when I was too old for it. Still has the same charm as the older ones.

It's amazing to think I was still in primary school when it first started, but was well into my 20's by the time it ended. It just shows how great a show it was though, that it ran for as long as it did. 2 generations of kids got to grow up watching this classic, Neil was a true star of children's telly from our time, no doubt.

Just here to add to the sixty comments telling you it’s shakin stevens. Not surprised you don’t know him, he was an eighties pop star who dressed like elvis and sang bebop songs in an American accent, he was popular at the time

Before his musical career he trained as a surgeon and bomb disposal expert, but wasn’t suited for either profession.

There seemed to be a fad in the 90s for those big floor art pieces on children's TV. I used to think, who it would benefit if we were to replicate? Pilots? People in high-rise buildings? Angels?

Aw, I was hoping for the New York episode! Still, hadn't seen this from right at the end of the show's life, so it was good.

Neil was in a hard rock/metal band called Marseille, so they definitely wouldn't have been responsible for the timeless Shaky classic! 😂 I adored Art Attack as a kid, even though I was rubbish at art myself. I absolutely marvelled st his immense artistic talent, it made Art Attack one of the best kids shows around when I was growing up. Thanx for the reaction, would love to see more Art Attack reactions if possible!

As a child I made a few attempts at making some of the stuff that Neil made but I'd usually get bored and give up after five minutes! The problem was I never owned any PVA glue which was used quite a lot in the show!😁😁🎄🎄🎄

As a kid, I used to refer to the PVA glue Neil used on the show as "school glue", as that was the glue we used at my school. 😂🙃
