I played through a German campaign and when my squadron was moved back from the front near the end of the campaign I transferred to a squadron that had MC 202s and I can tell you: boy are these pea-shooters they call guns frustrating if you are up against multiple enemies and have to put half of your magazine into a single MIG to bring him down

@@hunormagyar1843 at least the Bredas fire HE as well as AP now. Before a certain Patch they only fired AP due to a bug back then and AP also did basically no aero damage at that time. IIRC you can get 20mm gun pods, but the handling suffers from that

An Italian campaign over Malta would give you possibilities for attacks on shipping that you've expressed interest in. The SM-79 was a three-engine bomber that could carry bombs or torpedoes. You might try that.

Just the mere fact you're playing an Italian aircraft, one of the lesser well-known/well-played factions, makes this my favorite right now compared to the Heinkel. Don't be so grumpy about what the 202 does worse, it has one of the best aerodynamics of the war barring the Me-262 and is both a good energy fighter/interceptor and nimble dog fighter (wich is extremely rare in itself). Yes the armanent was historically underpowered but that has to account for something! Right?

Yeah the only thing that lets it down is the rear visibility. If you're able to move your head from side to side as well as turning around to see, then you should be able to get a better view behind - I guess that depends on your track IR.

If the Macchi C. 202 is chosen, I can see this being a story of an Italian squadron on the Eastern Front since Italy did have a sizable army and air force presence on the Eastern Front prior to the capitulation of Italy.

Oh Taff, is it that you hate trees or that you have latent lumberjack tendencies? A chainsaw is the preferred method for lopping-off branches, a bit expensive and risky to do it using an aircraft! Has anybody suggested the Mosquito yet? Pax dude, can't wait for the next one (cough, Mosquito!)

Murder by frightening them to death with near-misses. Also, the trick to bring down an enemy plane is to deposit so many bullets in the nose (or tail, not both!) that the centre of gravity goes outside what the aircraft can compensate for.
