Wishing you and your family a very happy Christmas. Thanks for the enthusiasm and entertainment as well all the tips this year. Even like you in my 70s and been fishing for over 60 years,never to old to learn. Thanks yet again
@TAFishing3 жыл бұрын
Always something to learn.. I had a great beach session in a few hours last week, film yet to go up, but after losing some fish I learned something new that I will deffo be passing on...Needless to say,I changed...and then caught fish immediately. My only regret I could have had even more if I had realised what was going on...Never too old to learn is indeed true.

Graeme, What a lovely Christmas Treat, my favourite angler on my favourite boat with my favourite skipper. Who could ask for more, "swing tipping for congers"? I only used a swing tip on the Thames so I am not sure about that one as a sea fishing tip? Filming as always excellent and plenty of action a great mixed species session. You have given me a dilemma though, my bucket list is growing and I have to decide on either a day out on "Lorna Doone" or a day out fishing on my own going out from Beer. I know Solution is at hand move to Mid Somerset and achieve both. Thanks for the post.

This is why I love this channel and GP. I'm an out and out course fisherman but I love his beach and boat videos. I learn so much from them and most importantly shows you don't have to break the bank account to do any style he videos. Been a fan before he actually made his ta account with float fishing for carp. I burst out laughing when he said "we have been nabbed by the bailiff for a ticket". Keep up the good work and maybe one day I'll get the pleasure to meet you on the bank. Ps. What was the name of the day ticket you fished in somerset. That pond is so my type of water.

I don't want to put a downer on your trip but the noise coming from the hull at anchor would have me head down over the side getting a wet fringe. Lovely looking boat and I have fished Watchet on Scooby Doo 2 and like your self caught a big conger and 2 lovely rays. Cracking video but the noise would muller me. Strange but only two things get me going 1 the smell of red derv and 2 the sloshing noise from a cathedral hull boat. one or the other, if both I struggle a lot. Any other type boat hull and I am fine so long as it is petrol or good quality diesel, I have owned a couple of boats in the past rarely sea sick. I learnt my achilleas heel from going out on charter boats. 🤢🤮
@TAFishing3 жыл бұрын
You could try some motion sickness pills,Stugeron was one I used many years ago. Or take a few ginger biscuits to gnaw on. Tommo's boat is petrol and I find the twin hulls way more stable at anchor than the old "roly-poly" hull types. Also best to pick the weather slot if you can. I'm just not going out on rough days,I've never done any good except for the odd shark ,and just don't find it enjoyable .
@pacman45683 жыл бұрын
@@TAFishing Advice is always welcome. But give a person a little credit. It's not the motion of the boat it's the sloshing noise from a twin hull and or the smell of red derv that triggers it for me. In general I am as sound as a pound when on a single hull boat with a petrol engine. I can fish all day in moderate weather conditions with zero sea sickness.

great video, sadly even in the bristol channel cod is disappearing fast, not much there as it used to be and smaller, they are moving further north, 10 more years and i think the channel will have virtually none, double figure cod is very rare even on the boats, just codling now and even them are in very thew patches and not very often, in the channel its all ray ray ray ray and eel eel eel and more horrible eels now, just me as i am not into slimmy eels this is why i dont shore fish anymore - i only boat fish, but some people enjoy ray and eel which is good and fair enough, i am just an old miserable git now who likes the eating fish still like cod. thanks for the video
@TAFishing3 жыл бұрын
Tommo is getting quite a lot of Cod to high double figures and that's just close in to Watchet harbour..I think there was a 13lb plus Cod taken off Dunster beach,so a good chance of a biggie from the shore this year I reckon.
@adriancoates98323 жыл бұрын
@@TAFishing hi, to be fair tommo is good at his job, probably the best charter boat/skipper in that area, he knows his stuff, maybe i should spend some cash and book a trip out sometime on his boat, i will have to look up the prices, its just a shame that cod/codling is disappearing so fast there, when years ago during the season you were always confident on catching on every trip but now.....its just like when you go to the fishing tackle shop to pick up bait etc they will always tell you a lot of codling has being caught in the channel and chesil beach over the weekend but the truth really is - for example - 5 codling has being caught among a thousand anglers over the weekend lol, then with the photos taken which makes people think that hundreds of codling have been caught over the weekend, experienced anglers all know this but we keep trying as you should do, keep up the good videos graeme

@@TAFishing Graham. I was comparing the one in your vid to a Lyme bay one, not a Lyme bay one to a 110kg one off the Azores, it's pretty bloody obvious to anyone interested that the U.K. coast can not compare to fish off the Azores.
