Well, there's very little redeeming value on the Rayven aside from aesthetics when compared to the stryfe. Significant modification is required to achieve similar performance, and a stryfe compared to a rayven where both have been identically upgraded will have a better trigger and initial velocity.

As someone with the old Neon-Green Rayven; the ranges on it are shyte compared to a stock Stryfe or Modulus. If you find one cheap then either mod it or gut it and shell-mod it with a Stryfe or Modulus (note: the internal barrel in the N-Strike Rayven with acetal-welded to the shell on the side with the electronics, if you're going to gut it you need a Dremel or similar to cut the barrel out at the mounting socket). Personally, when the weather is better down here I'm going to try and combine my gutted Rayven shell with my Modulus (which needs good weather before rewiring anyway), to make a Modven/Mayven (name still pending).

The big argument with the Rayburn is that a flywheel blaster has no benefits from being a Bullpup and just has a ton of barrel drag. The strife is shorter, but once you throw a stock on it and compare it with the Rayven you do get the added bonus of it being shorter

I picked up a bunch of green Rayvens while they were on clearance XD I figure, if I'm re-wiring them, modding the trigger mechanism, and dropping in better motors, why spend extra on Elite Rayvens or even Stryfes when I have all these old Rayvens I got for $5 a pop :3 I also have one Stinger, which I haven't done anything to since I want to keep it unmolested. It comes with a 12-round mag (meh) but these really cool unique yellow and black Elite darts (which I'm too afraid to lose). The main source of jamming issues, I've found, is darts popping up out of the top of the clip - there's some empty space in the mag well above the top dart, so it tends to pop out a bit and, when pushed forwards, catch on the edge of the port into the flywheel cage. The fix is simple, just stick a solid, flat surface (cardboard is fine) to the underside of the jam door; the added thickness and smooth surface prevents the feeding issues effectively. Aside from the bullpup configuration and all the advantages and disadvantages that that brings, I love the Rayven for its downright spacious shell compared to the Stryfe. The Stryfe is a well-minimized blaster, and is very compact with little wasted space; but if I want to add needless gizmos to it, there's very little empty space to cram it in. The Rayven has tons of space in the shell, so if you want to have additional battery packs in there to run LEDs or ammo counters or something else unnecessary but cool, the Rayven won't require you to hot-glue an ugly box to the exterior. It's not the most practical blaster, but there are few things in Nerf I more satisfying than unloading mags with a 16V roar, unnecessary tacticool attachments, and a Christmas tree's worth of lights.

Excellent video as always! Favorite is still the stryfe, but there is something about the rayven that's always called me to it. As a result of course my strayven as well. Can't wait for the desolator! The sticky trigger is fixable, but takes time. I found filing down the dart pusher on its underside near the front helps big time. I also swap the compression spring for a torsion spring on the pusher mech. Makes it feel much better, but still not stryfe level of comfort. Always come always from your videos with a smile on my face.

I was lucky enough to find a person who was selling Rayvens. They were the original ones though, but I was wanting a Rayven for so long that it didn't matter too much to me (I'm sure once I get around to modifying it, it won't make much of a difference). It feels _so_ good to hold though. I do think they'll probably rerelease it at some point, or at least make a proper successor to it. Maybe not for a while, with all the stuff coming out, but if they ever find themselves needing to pad out the zombiestrike or rebelle lines it would be easy to fit a rerelease of this in and it has kind of a cult following. Maybe when they do, I'll actually get around to buying one rather than forgetting to pick one up.

I have 2 pre-Elite Rayvens, and the trigger/pusher on one of mine just kept sticking EVERY shot, until I greased the internal rails and gently filing down the pusher rod block like a hairs width and greased the hell out of that. I love my Ravens, I have 2 Stryfes as well, but I like the bullpup design of the Rayven. And yeah, the range is atrocious, I may end up putting some Fangs Revamped in mine with Instutanto flywheels and a Graphene LiPo, they deserve it.

I may have figured the key to making a fly wheeler take slugs. On the pusher if a stryfe, I loaded in a slug in a katana mag and of course, it still didn’t work. If you build up an e poxy putty ramp on the pusher it may cause the slug to get sucked into the flywheels

Just in case someone seeing this hasn't by some freak set of events, things have improved a bit. Kohls has the rayvenfire, essentially a rayven with the regulator's color scheme, for 70USD. I think that's quite high, as I would have given it a 25 round drum mag and a 40USD price tag.
