Filipino LOMI on a rainy day - TAGAYTAY

While walking along the street of Tagaytay I stumbled across the most quaint little carinderia built out of the side of a home. I asked them if I could try their best selling dish and they said I have to try the lomi.
Lomi is an egg noodle soup that is hearty and full of delicious ingredients like veggies, kikiam (fish balls), and sometimes meatballs.

​​@@tagalogkurt It's a lomi noodle dish. The noodles thickens the broth. A simple serving is somewhat similar to chicken mami. You can add other ingredients depending on your creativity. What you were served with looks like "Everything on it" or an "overload" serving. You can season your meal with a drop or two from the dip you've prepared before taking a spoonful. Or, you can just add the dip directly into the bowl adjusting the amount to your taste preference.......❤❤❤

Lomi noodles is called that way because of the noodle itself a thick soggy-like egg noodle soaked in lye water. The toppings differentiated according to the provinces who has it. But usually it has pork rinds and boiled egg.

Tagaytay is underrated. The weather there is nice even in summer, scenery is beautiful, place is not crowded, less traffic and of course lots of delicious food around.

I live here in Tagaytay and the traffic now adays is getting worst especially on weekends. The traffic area here are the junctions area from Rotonda to Crossing Mendez where there is ongoing construction of a fly over to lessen the traffic in that area.. The weather here is a bit crazy but not hot as in Metro Manila and lowlands of Cavite Province.

Go to Batangas City man, not that far from Tagaytay. You'll find authentic Lomi there and some other good places serving good food. ✌

Lomi is indeed a hearty meal. It is good to eat it on rainy or cold days. There is more carinderia food to try as you visit other places in the Philippines. If you know how to drive motorcyles or maxiscooters and do have a driver's license, it would be a nice idea to incorporate moto vlogging into your food reviews in the country.

Think of lomi as asian gravy noodles it's like Singaporean Hor Fun but a lot more heavy. This is best after drinking just before you go home. It's heavy, unhealthy, and oh so good . We call these types of foods as putok batok, reference to how you feel your high blood pressure through your nape sometimes. Liver is atay.
