If you've ever died from blight (instant death) it looks like these black spikes solidify in your blood and rip through your flesh in a similar way. Radagon using the curse of the blight, exterminate the majority of them, This sole survivor cursed Radagon. Radagon hair change from blonde to that Orange-red style. For anyone having trouble with this boss I just beat him and here’s how I did it: Quick explanation: you can use the exact same hit and run tactics on him that you can on Rahdan. Gear: Get a finger seal in your right hand armament with the Rotten Breath dragon incantation. This is the only weapon you’ll need the entire fight, I’d recommend around 2-3 blue flasks as the incantation costs a bit for a full cast. The mimic tear is also helpful but totally not necessary if you don’t have it yet. Strategy (1st and 2nd phase) 1st phase: you’ll be on horseback the entire time similar to rahdans fight. Once you start closing in he’ll usually do his snow attack where he uses his shield to send a wave of snow at you. Double jump over it on your horse as soon as you see the snow start coming up and you should be fine. After that keep a full sprint towards him until you’re under him, once there wait until he does some other attack. His attacks are slow but hit like a truck so use his recovery time to launch a complete rot breath incantation on him (hold down instead of just pressing) this should activate scarlet rot and from there you get out from under him and just sprint away from him, try to keep an eye on him however otherwise he’ll cheapshot you with one of his insanely long attacks. From there you just need to avoid him until the rot wears off. His only real attacks you need to worry about are where he’ll take a few steps toward you and then throw down his shield, that has INSANE reach so once you see him wind back start rushing your horse away from him. His other attack is the snow attack which I already covered. Once the rot wears away repeat the process again and the second time should get him to go into phase 2, if not just repeat and repeat again. Phase 2: This renders the boss mostly immobile for the first 40 seconds of the phase. His first attack will ALWAYS be him slamming his fists on the ground, dodge them and then apply scarlet rot to his hand close to you and then get the hell out of there, from there he usually does his volcano rock spewing attack which goes on for a good 10 seconds or so. Use that time to get to a safe distance and then summon in whatever you brought, I used mimic tear but literally almost anything will do. Let your mimic aggro the boss and maintain a similar distance similar to phase 1. Once the rot wears off again wait for a good opportunity to strike when the boss is distracted on your summon to apply the final layer of rot on him, once applied just book it out of there and finally relax as you just beat the single most annoying boss in this game (at least to me so far anyway) Notes: (The camera is your enemy in this fight, if you can’t lock into his ankles or arms just toggle off lock on.) This boss might be slow but I’m sure you already learnt that he can mess your shit up if you get hit, with this strategy you’ll really only be facing a few of his moves anyway. The key is patience and knowing when to strike. Wear your heaviest armor and DO NOT get discouraged, I got shit on at least 10 times earlier today by him and then recently returned to the fight about 15 minutes ago and got him on my 3rd try. If you’re still having problems with his moves Tyrannicon made a video about all his moves and how to avoid them. If there’s any more questions, feel free to ask me, I apologize if this was so long to read. I was trying to remember exactly how my fight went and tried to give the full explanation of all the obstacles of this strategy.

He rolled to the side a few times for me but I just followed him and waited until his next to use the breath once more.

It's patched. I defeat him yesterday. The only strategy I can give is - patience n always expect him to do slow attack. - Don't lock onto him if you could so that you can adjust your camera n see what movement he do and time your dodge. This is really important. - Be aggressive when you have the chance. - When he start second phase, call your spirit summon to distract him and you can target any of his forearm. His weakness is on the forearm now. - Be careful and move away when he use area flame attack. Choose the area you will be safe from the fire n attack only if you can. - If you do it right, it takes 3~5 minutes yo kill him.

I used a int magic build, and glintstone pebble / greatbow to get him down to second phase, then used the Azur comet with the flask that gives endless fp for 10~ seconds. In his second phase he's a little less mobile and easier to hit. He lived through the entire beam, we had to finish him with a few sword hits.

The double katana was ultimately the trick for me. Use Torrent to get in close, target the feet and go to town, without getting greedy. If you wait too long to get out, he does the stop, drop and roll move and you're likely to get smushed. He was a hard boss for me, first one to kill my Mimic Tear. I had been on a nice run of killing bosses and he humbled me a bit.

Tip: use a quick weapon that inflicts bleed and use the mimic tear summon for inflicting even more bleed. I used a greataxe and could barely get to the second phase, but switched to the uchigatana and defeated him in the first attempt with that weapon. It went so much quicker

This was patched btw. I just tried to stay close under him for the whole fight. First phase go for the broken leg. Second phase try to focus his hands for most damage. Best thing tho is to stay under him to minimize the long range attacks. It’s hard for him to connect with you and if you stay near the back of his legs he shouldn’t really hit you with the rolls either. Good luck!

If you decide not to cheese him, one bit of advice I can give is... If you mainly have a ranged play style, I would say this battle is far easier melee. Once I switched over to a melee fight "mindset" if you will, the fight became a lot more manageable. Use your horse to get close, but get off your horse to be able to roll for those invincibility frames. One of his legs is a weakspot for phase one! For phase 2 staying behind him is the safest why to fight. I also switched back to magic for phase 2 to try to nuke him asap which worked out for me. Hope this helps anyone that doesn't like the cheese method or doesn't want to use it but still wanted some advice!

@@kanpeki2485 Sadly I can't fight him again without restarting so I can't test anything out but perhaps you were experiencing a glitch? I stayed pretty close to him, but I don't remember if I was using the lock on feature at the time. If you've only gotten to phase 2 once it might be worth trying the lock on again to see if it was just a random issue (similar to how there's a boss with a mechanic that you need to be able to see an aura around special enemies to break the bosses defenses, but sometimes the auras will never appear until retrying the boss) I wish I could give better advice other than just try again, but I have no idea what might be causing that issue :(

I finally beat him pretty easily, I had to just remember to use my rune arc to boost my attributes to kill him in the first phase quicker with my mimic. Use Ezekiel Decay and a bleed weapon to drain him quickly in the first phase then be patient in the second phase and not rush into the ring of fire until you dodge all attacks and it’s clear. You’ll eventually get his movements down.

I used a strength, poise (133) and negate damage build. I used the Bull-Goat armor set, Fingerprint shield and switched between the Great Stars hammer and Cross-Naginata spear for the weapons. For talismans I used Bull-Goat, Greatshield, Pearldrake and Dragoncrest Greatshield. I simply ran at the bastard with my shield up and poked away at his left leg with the spear and smashed away with the Great Stars hammer when I had the chance. The only difference in the second stage is that I used a fireproof dried liver to negate the fire damage. I was aggressive and took him down quickly.

I beat him easily. I continued the Great-Jar quest line and could summon him to help against the Giant. his summon sign was just inside the entrance to the giants area. I also used the Mimic summon, and used the Shabriris Woe charm at the start when summoning the Mimic. Then changed it to something else. This kept the Giants focus on the Pot and the Mimic while I spammed Comet Azur. Killed him in about 4 minutes.

Not the hardest of boss in the end once you've seen all his attack. The big snow scoop he does, I would just recommend blocking with a shield and you will take 0 dmg depending on your shield. My strategy is to go around quickly using torrent, demount, do a quick burst, flee and repeat.

Honestly i rarely lock on anymore, found most fights a whole lot easier without it, especially because you can use some AoW to move you like Sword Dance, using offset aiming / target leading on faster / dodge happy enemies (black knife assassins are super easy this way)

EDIT: PATCHED. CHEESE DOESNT WORK I just found this out while trying: If you get the giant to fall off the tallest part of the cliff as he's charging up a "snowplow" attack, he will not take any damage at all. EDIT: actually... if he charges up ANY attack. I even got him to hop on the "pillar" too on both attempts.

To fix this issue, what you have to do is make sure you're not too close to him. When he jumps up onto the top part, make sure you run away so he chases you.

Tried this cheese for like 2 hours, he kept refusing to jump down the 2nd time and was constantly killing me with those fast bolts. Finally got sick of it and killed him normally. Scarlet rot helped quite a bit, I had a Rapier that inflicted it. It wasn't easy, but I guess I got gud enough to finally prevail. Still took me like an hour though..

Melee his ankles. Took me 5 minutes after finding him. Any ranged attack will get you flattened.

I just tried this and could not get him to hurt himself. He just hovered down and landed safely. It happen about 4-5 times. Did the update fix it?

I used my horse to close the gap and focused on hitting his left foot. 2nd phase I used my mimic spirit to copy all of my weapons and powers (I’m a Dex/bleed build) and we just started piling bleed damage after bleed damage.

Geez the ridiculous amount of bosses in this game it gets kind of frustrating. It’s like no matter how far you get the Developers always have a loop hole to go “hey here’s a more difficult boss for you to fight” like it doesn’t matter how much you level up. No matter what you’re still going to get your ass whooped. Some of the bosses just look the same but a different weapon… and they just keep making them bigger. I’m afraid to go even further into this game. I’m expecting them to drop a giant friggin planet on me next…

At about a third health he went to phase 2. As soon as phase 2 started he died… must have glitches out. I was a bit disappointed because I wanted to finish him properly but didn’t complain haha

I just spent the better part of an hour beating him with my first character and now I'm watching all the guides I was too stubborn to look up. I used ice magic for the first phase and used comet azure to kill him as he was starting his second phase. The trick was to save the physic potion and take it as soon as the second phase starts to make my magic hit as hard as possible

I was lvl 117 when I fought the giant and after I realized I could just get underneath his sac and dodge a little here and there my winning fight I only used 1 hp pot and I probably could have done without it. Running Moonveil set up.

This for a sorecer is absolutely impossible. Comet azur does no damage at all and we do not have any way to inflict bleed or rot damage. I ve beem stucked on this boss for a couple of weeks. Tried around 60 times. There is no way to beat him ... i have int vigor and mind to 99 and he is just too strong. Unfortunately they patched the fall damage so I guess my elden ring adventure ends here

So you just….gonna give up? Respec as a different class and try at it. I’m lvl 125 just got to him today will try tonight but I’ve “cheesed” other bosses with mimic+6 and meteoric katana+6. Don’t give up. That’s what they want!

Try incorporating the moonveil katana into your build. Like you, I am a mage build, however using the moonveil allows for versatility with bleed buildup and it also scales well with INT. Was a huge part of my success with the firegiant. Just get close and aim for the legs.

I'm a mage and I'm by no means a good player so let me give me a few simple tip that I used . A level 10 Mimic Torrent to run around In any range attack (magic ) for second round .so as soon as you enter the battle field summon your mimic You always want to stay under is leg but never for long . You will want to attack the left leg the one he Rip of . Make he have his concentration on the mimic You will be in part 2 in no time Just make sure never to stay to long under is leg specially if you see he doing his fire attack on the Floor You stick up to this plan until phase 2 On phase 2 you basically forget the first tactic to do what we Mage do the best which is to fire projectile from distances until death occurs and trust me he will know defeat by the hand of your staff Like I said I'm not the best player I hope you could see this as an advice and not someone trying to show off Oh and my weapon is the one you get from Rabi quest but the moonveil katana can actually do the things. And if all this don't work I'm whilling to give my pan summon me and let's teach that fire giant a lesson or two

i'm arcane but didn't know he was so weak to the flies. I'm glad i beat him with my katana though. Was very satisfying to chop him down. I did throw in rotten breath though to get that dot going.

I tried this before reading comments and found it was patched, but he does get stuck on top of the mountain. What I did was follow what the video shows and then once he's stuck on the mountain summon Latenna the Albinauric who will shoot arrows at him. It takes about 10 minutes but works great.

Also it's possible don't give up he is the hardest by far over finished the game. That's just me cause he is so big it can be overwhelming and he has 2 one shot skills.

That’s crazy I never got hit by the roll once lol stay by his back legs the whole time and you’ll be good. Be aware of sound that can indicate the fire exploding or he’s doing an attack. I didn’t even have to look at him to know
