As millennial this nearly brings a tear to my eye. I've been waiting my whole life to see an elite player in Buffalo. It's been such a roller coaster, loosing our core in Drury & Brier. Vanek was a good player but, he wasn't the elite player that his $10 million a year contract was paying for. In my hopes to get a real elite player I was regrettably pro-tank during the Eichel-McDavid draft and when Eichel didn't work out I gave up. I didn't plan on paying any attention to the Sabres anymore, I figured Granato and Adams would be more of the same carousel. As soon as I decide to give up, we start wining games and Tage Thompson decides to come out of nowhere. I don't even know what to think anymore, it feels like Tage Thompson isn't real and I'm just going to wake up. He's like one of those "build your own players" in a video game where you make the player as big as you can and then put all of there skill levels up to 99. It just doesn't seem real! And this character plays for the Sabres!

I get it, he is unbelievable literally speaking, enjoy while he is there. I get a feeling him and Austin Mathews will unite forces in Arizona one day, they are both from there I believe.

When the entire team and organization seems to no longer care about the fans (which was the vibe I had gotten from them for the last 10 years until recently), it’s not worth investing in. Not to mention the cost of a cable subscription with MSG. I’d rather spend money on my other hobbies that make me happy than continue to pay to watch the Sabres loose every season. If not wanting to spend time and money on something that makes me unhappy makes me a “bandwagon fan” then so be it.
