the song is about breaking up and losing someone that was so important to him that he feels like drowning and asking himself those questions like "what am i now?" and the scene from the beginning happened after the rest of the video and shows that he survived. also fun fact: harry wrote this song in 20 minutes in a towel after getting out of the shower lol

The video basically begins at the end. I think it represents the cyclical nature of “falling” back into this place where he isn’t even sure he would want to be around himself, realizing he doesn’t want to be that, getting better, and then falling again. Wash, rinse, repeat. The song is more about himself and who he’s become after his breakup than the actual relationship itself. Great reaction. I definitely recommend a deep dive into all of his stuff!
