What a beautiful video, I seriously loved the song and Iu and V's performance was too perfect, didn't it have a happy ending? No, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it was a beautiful mv. Iu's voice was beautiful and she acted very well, and V doesn't even mention it, even though he didn't sing a single chorus, he was perfect, he's an actor and we loved seeing V acting so much. V is blind in his right eye and IU is mute. Part of the story is that they see each other as perfect regardless of their physical limitations. And yes IU and V are friends and she asked him to be her leading man in this video. This was just a week or two before he entered the military service.

IU is Korea's Princess everyone loves her, she is good friends with V and SUGA [ she has a couple of songs with SUGA ] during her recording this song and while she was recording the video she had pneumonia, IU is also an actress who is in alot of K drama's and movies.

Evan's cognitive functions seems to rely more on objective information and logic rather than personal feelings. It makes more sense to him to see things as is. That's why maybe it's hard for him to immerse himself into a story that isn't actually happening in the real world. It might seem insensitive but it doesn't mean he isn't empathetic. He could be deeply empathetic (or not), it's just he prioritizes being grounded in reality. His empathy would probably be reserved for something that actually happens to him, where he can experience it in reality, and for those who are suffering in the real world, real time. Because of this his brain takes him out of the MV story and instead focuses only on the fact that the actress lives in CA, and that she's ok lol. He may understand a MV or movie is sad, but ultimately the functions in his brain won't allow his emotions to overwhelm him over reality. Jake and Alex seem to be more of the empathetic type...who prioritizes feelings (of others and their own) over objectivety. They can be objective as well ofc, but their cognitive functions naturally drives them to prioritize emotions first. They appreciate experiencing those emotions and it moves them, hence the tears shed for the display of love. They may easily experience deep empathy when relating to anyone or anything (like this MV), either through the lens of their own feelings (like his pain from trauma) and experiences, or because they can actually feel or imagine the emotions others might feel. They become immersed in stories whether they are real or not, because emotions are their driving force. I'm actually more of this type lol and imo, I think seeing the joy and beauty of love moves us to tears because as humans, we also innately understand the loneliness, pain and suffering that comes with the absence of love. Didn't mean to analyze you guys and I might be totally off, but it was just something I thought I noticed and I couldn't help myself since I love trying to read people haha. Great reaction, really enjoyed it!

I'm glad you guys reacted to this one. IU has a lovely voice and is a hugely famous soloist in Korea almost like Korea's sweetheart I would say. IU asked V to be in this MV and he did so only a week before he had to leave for the military. IU has done has down 2 songs with Suga: "Eight" which Suga produced & featured on and "People pt.2" which is a song off Agust D's "D-day" album. IU is also an actress she has done several dramas. Also she has a youtube show called "Palette" that Suga, J-Hope, & V all did an episode of to talk about their solo albums "D-Day", "Jack in the Box", & "Layover" and they performed a few songs. She is good friends with Suga and V. IU also did an episode of Suga's youtube show called "Suchwita" which the show has a laid back atmosphere where the guest brings a drink usually alcohol of their choice but not always if the guests aren't drinkers. They sit drinking and eating while sometimes getting into deep conversations. Suga is a great host I've really been loving his show which did 27 episodes and he started the show as a place where his members could come promote their solo albums in a comfortable environment to freely talk about music but then he also had other guests on the show too like other musicians, actors, comedians, etc.

Yes, the pile of clothes has pretty much the same meaning in the Spring Day MV that it does here. As soon as I saw it I knew not to expect a happy ending, but it still made very emotional. I wasn’t ready for the last shot of their clothes landing on the pile. 😢

The most beautifully tragic metaphor for disability and the cube is society cutting those who are different out. Very on brand for IU and her messages. She got the award winning movie director of dystopian movies to direct her MV then when brainstorming who could possibly fit as male lead she asked V. Perfect song and MV. Art.

I love this MV.. they see each other through their hearts (through camera) happy, beautiful, pure and healthy.. the scene when they have a feast- those faceless people represent stigmas and stereotypes and just the wrong view on disabled people and they just don't care about those people. They see only each other as perfect as they are ❤ the cube represents (for me) society.. and it's a symbol of how society can easily "k!ll" their dreams, feelings and kinda "ruin them" (mentaly) but at the end of it - they still won, because nothing is more important than love and how lucky they were to find love with each other ❤️ I also love how IU is the one who leads TH through dangerous situations and protects him.. and of course the music, melody and IU's amazing voice !! I'm just copy pasting an explaination I saw under another video: The Cube represents society, it is chasing every individual who doesn't fit the standards of society. Here V is half blind, IU is deaf and mute. So they are running from oppression of society. The world is controled by these standards of perfection to the point that people in the world put masks on when they don't have make-up or when they feel inssecure or they wear hats when their hair is messy. The MV is a dystopian view of our society. While they are trying to hide in this abondonned place filled with the clothes of people who died because of this oppression, they find a camera that allows them to have an illusion of what their lives could be if they were "normal" by society's standards, it starts with their looks, they could see how they would have looked like, then what they would eat, then they start to feel the illusion a bit too much to the point they beautifully imagine that IU could sing and V could sing as well and she could listen to his voice, they could marry each other and just have fun and eat whatever they want because they wouldn't have to care about society or any other kind of oppression. However, as soon as they feel a little bit of confort and try to live their life, the Cube (society) finds them again and push them to retreat and flee again, but the Cube managed to find them again, they try to survive against it and try to fight it as hard as they can, but they cannot beat a stronger system, they just give up but at least they stayed together until the end. Even if they died at the end, they loved each other deeply, it shows that even if society is oppressive, people can love each other and they can find their soulmate even if they are not "normal or perfect" to the eyes of some many others. The pile of clothes is like from Spring Day, these people died because of injustice, but they deserved love, so the pile of clothes can look very gloomy and sad, but as in Spring Day MV if you don't forget them you can seem them happy and free where they are right now...

Before I get into IU, I feel I must say that it personally find it very sad and concerning that the scene with the pile of clothes is most often identified with BTS's Spring Day MV. There is a hint that the scene was inspired from Spring Day as if BTS had some input into this video. IU is the producer of the video and wrote the lyrics. The concept and vision are all her's. BTS had no input into the video. But what is more concerning to me is that the pile of clothes in this video is inspired by the images from the holocaust. While the imagery in Spring Day was dealing with the ferry tragedy and NOT an extermination event as it is in this video and the holocaust, the Spring Day imagery was in fact in spired by a French art installation that was crested to remember the holocaust. Out of all the reaction videos I have watched of this MV only 2 other people have mentioned the holocaust as being the image they were reminded of. Are we really already forgetting what happened in WW2? Is this no longer taught in schools and the images of piles of clothes, shoes, Jewelry and gold filled teeth outside the gas chambers. I don't know how anyone could have study these events, seem those images and ever forgotten then. As the saying goes those who forget history are bound to repeat it. And it seems we have already forgotten. OK I am off my soap box. It appears you guys are unfamiliar with IU. So here are some details about her. She debuted at the age of 15 in 2008. She became a National star in 2010 when 2 of her songs reached #1. Since then she has had over 30 #1 hits, twice as many as anyother soloist or group. Her songs have been on the charts in Korea for over 650 weeks, again more than twice as long as anyone else. She is an award winning actress and an award winning model. She started auditioning as a singer at the age of 13. She was rejected 20 times before being signed by a small agency. She debuted after only 10 months of training, which is almost unheard of in the Korean kpop industry. In Sept of 2022 she held a 2 day concert at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, becoming the 1st female soloist to headline a concert there. 90,000 tickets sold out in 15 minutes with just under 500,000 waiting in queue. In Korea selling tickets on the secondary market for more than face value is illegal, so these were all actual fans trying to buy tickets, not bots or resellers buying them up and reselling them at higher prices to make money as in the USA. IU as launched her 1st World Tour which includes 6 cities in the US and 2 in Europe. She has never toured outside of Asia. This song is 1 of 4 MV's from her current comeback. The next 2 Holssi and Shopper are about her deciding to take on a new challenge, after considering retirement.
