Every Al Murray video will have you in stitches. You should do Al Murray on Global Finance. Its brilliant and he does some amazing accents in it too. But You have to do Jimmy Carr as well. But a word of warning. He is as funny as Al Murray but extremely outrageous as well.

@@girlsdrinkfeck If you think people "decide" to be transgender you have no place clicking on videos with "genius" in the title. (And if you think Izzard self-identity is for self-promotion or that the word is "Narassist" you may be a total Meringue.)

The biggest joke is that most Americans don’t understand that Al Murray’s ‘Pub Landlord’ is a parody! He is MEANT to be the bigoted, opinionated, logic and fact-twisting character that he is….and that we who live in England all know only too well! 🤣

I don't think that's really the point, it's just the reasons why people think certain things, even if ultimately true, the reasoning is flawed. It's joke about things being reduced to bitesize, because people might commonly just say that Mozart wrote twinkle twinkle when he was 3, ergo genius, but the people saying that may just being saying it to sound smart and knowledgeable, when the true genius that Mozart did write, they never heard of and have no frame of reference for, it's just people saying cliches basically, instead of actually appreciating the genius.

I always found American comedy boring; either too polished or political (Seinfeld, for example). Then I heard Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle. Just gotta open your mind to more variety.
@Alfred5555
@Alfred5555 5 күн бұрын
I feel that too with American comedy. Some of their stand-up is good, but it's just not as fun as English stand-up. I found that American comedy all round is too clean cut, rather than just boring or political, though it is endlessly political, including Burr and Chappelle. It's as if all comedians in America never make it past the "club scene" sentiment, they focus on contemporary things. Whereas I notice English comedians are better at tapping into universal experiences, that are fun as well as funny, family friendly, and still blue humour. Like George Carlin, he was one small bit about "universal experiences", whereas in Britain that seems rather to be core of most comedy, things everyone knows as a touchstone and then telling a story or opinion about, not just object target comedy like I think they do in America much more, there's always a target or butt of the joke, rather than the whole joke just being a funny story. I'd like to see Americans watch really old British comedy when it was in a real hay-day. It's not so much going for big laughs, but just constantly funny, more like a clown show, but still intelligent comedy. My favourite is Ken Dodd, who was very much a clown type of comedian and was happy about that, but off stage he was deeply immersed in comedy in a practically scholarly way, and he'd joke about that being saying that laughs come from the chuckle muscle, etc, nonsense things, but it was how he expressed his deep dedication to comedy. And it was reflected in his life, he kept performing until just 1 year before his death aged 90, and now there is a bust of him front and centre in his home city's national library, commemorating he serious time spent there reading likely writing and honing his comedy. On top of that he was also an incredible singer, a friend of the Beatles and had the UK No.1 in 1965, beating the Beatles in the charts. He'd even mix this into his comedy, pretending that he couldn't sing and then ending in a massive opera, or singing a foreign ballad perfectly and pretending he needs to read the lyrics for the English part. There's really nothing like nowadays, in terms of ability, genius, and a sort of scholarly dedication to stage performances.

Most British comedians tend to be posh and upper class but Al Murray is the most upper class of them all. He is not only going to inherit an English title but a Scottish one as well ie he makes Stephen Fry look common.
