Imagine justifying traveling and doing what you want, against the advise of experts and spreading the virus to family, who then die and now you're over their casket talking about how you miss them. This death, directly linked to the actions we all take. 1 person spread this diease to the world, but everyone downplaying the virus and putting their self interest over others is why it's still around and why whole wards of people are dying.

Exactly, because at the end of the day, people doing what they want to do is making it hard for everybody else. I have sisters who share her rationale, meanwhile my health is failing, our moms health has deteriated(I'm her caretaker). I couldn't travel and get around before the pandemic, but the things i could do I can't do anymore so now I'm stuck in the house, depressed, and going through it. My mom stuck in the house, our little walks to the car and through walmart was her whole physical activity, now because she hasn't been able to do that... my mom can no longer walk, her musles have locked up. I can't take her to her speciality dentist because they're ususally booked for months, but now they're not even open. We're suffering because people are spreading the diease and keeping shit shut down, then they want to complain about the vaccine... a nigga in my state destroyed nearly 600 doses.... /But yeah, the world is going to keep spinning fuck eveybody else?

In terms of the covid conversation that was had. I think there was too much reckless behavior being accepted as “just living your life” or “you don’t know what someone is going through”. While that does have merit, it all comes down to limiting your exposure to people and places that can get you sick, and then you exposing others. Food and groceries should all take the least amount of time possible and should be taken to-go (in terms of food). The travel component of what was said may have been the most insulting to the people in the places you are visiting and bringing a potential new strain of the virus with you, even if you’re unaware. If traveling has to do with your livelihood than I would travel as a last resort after thinking of all the ways to get the business done virtually. Traveling for a vacation or some type of getaway is absolutely unacceptable in this time, and definitely shouldn’t be encouraged or passed off as no big deal. Lastly saying death is death is a bad faith argument since death from this can be preventable. That’s not to say all death is is but there are steps to be taken that can guard against it.

So glad that I didn't watch this when it aired. I LOVE Tacarra and found myself arguing her down w/all my spice for way too long. False equivalencies and the "do you" attitude isn't helpful to us, our families or our community in ANY situation. The essential worker comment was unfair. Those folks have no choice and many of them would chose to work from home if they could. Hiking by yourself is not the same as traveling for pleasure in Miami, Atlanta or anywhere else in the U.S. Yes, FL is open bc our Gov. is problematic- not bc Covid ain't here ravaging our communities. There is a vaccine, a treatment protocol and fairly inexpensive medication for the flu- we're not there w/Covid **yet** so we ought to take maximum precaution, ESPECIALLY within the Black community. The healthcare system has been low-key harmful to us, PRE-covid. Those disparite outcomes haven't gone away bc of the pandemic.
