Jupiter, I always laugh before the video when you do the gear load out of a hike. I laugh because I know it is going to be super light and I think how can he talk so long about the small amount of gear. However, of all the gear load outs I love yours the best. You always give so much explanation or thought of why you selected that piece of gear. As I age my base weight is lowering and I always pick something up from you had to reduce it further safely and smartly. Thank you for putting this content together for us. Happy Hiking!

For the capture clip, I've own one for a few months and here's my advice: get yourself a peak design screw-on plate and a tripod with a compatible lever that latches on said plate. This way you don't have to screw-unscrew every time you want to get a shot (trust me you'll end up not filming). All you have to do is clip the camera on your shoulder strap, unclip it (all can be done one-handed) and then clip it on your tripod. Sure you'll add a couple of ounces but you'll gain time and efficiency, a very good trade off in my opinion.

Mad respect to your vast experience, and always love your gear list videos, but heads up: a bit of pearl-clutching ahead. Just hoping that way less experienced people, who won't understand the many safety items you have chosen away and associated pluses/minuses, won't just take your list straight off and march out into the woods with it. The TRT is all above 6k', and you've said you're expecting temps as low as 40 deg F. That could easily, with the tiniest bit of bad luck, land you in at least a night in the 30s, or possibly worse. I've been caught in snowstorms at that altitude at this time of year. It can happen. You could also very easily face summer thunderstorms. You have no raingear, top or bottom. No warmer insulating layer (puffy etc). No base layers. Apparently nothing to cover your legs with at all, except a bit of polycro if it came to it. No gloves. Did I miss a beanie? You're one unfortunate weather blip away from dying of hypothermia. Not to mention "comfort" items, like water filtration or bug protection. Again, you're obviously calculating all of this based on long experience, and also probably knowing that the TRT has easier bailouts to town than a lot of trails. But wow, many less experienced people could get themselves into serious doo with a loadout like that. Hoping the average viewer will take this purely as aspirational entertainment, and stick to a more complete gear list for their first 500 hikes or so. I do love the obvious comfort you travel in during the days, with what looks like a small school knapsack. Happy trails man!! :)

I agree with you, no one should take what I do as a blueprint. I do these hopefully so somebody will see something cool and add it to their own kit. As you said, I both have a lot of experience and the TRT is not the most remote or difficult trail given my past experiences. I took calculated risks. More risk than I'd recommend the vast vast majority of people take. I share these as well just to show what I am doing as somewhat of a diary, as I wish those before me had. I am far from the first to be doing things in this fashion. But again, I usually say and have said many times before, please don't use me as a blueprint. Though I have shared many many videos about skills and techniques, that can help anyone go lighter
