Very high level stuff at play here but presented in a very casual way. One of the biggest take aways for someone shouldn't be the bouncing away part. Its that you need your kao, peng and ting jin up before you even start and should work on being able to access these feelings(energy) at anytime. One thing we were taught was to try to keep all of our skills (or as many as you can) active while doing other tasks.

@phoenixmountaintaichi I'm happy to help! I'd really like to make it out to your school one day and do some energy drills with you guys. This is still a pretty rare skill here in the States, so I don't get much occasion to work with folks outside the Pai.

Looks like you're letting the facia of your entire body distribute and absorb the force like a spring/shock absorber. Then you redirect the force by lightly changing the level of the point of connection, and then release the absorbed and stored energy back to where it came from (also like a spring). Great demonstration and superb lesson.

I stumbled up on this concept, and also realized that the lighter I do it the more easily they are thrown away. You just explained the how of what I was doing.

I had noticed that when watching your videos! It's one of the reasons I started talking with you. You have an uncommonly high skill and understanding and also an open and fluid mind!

I'll be damned... so in movies like Tai Chi Boxer where someone can take a kick to the stomach and then rebound the force, that's not just movie fu, that stuff's actually possible? Mind blown. I'm grateful to know of you, this side of tai chi is so hard to find, even the two classes I know of that do acknowledge the martial art behind the form almost never do applications or go into it like this

Thank you for the kind comment! There are some things that one might think is just movie but it's totally possible and it's great to expand our mind to possibilities. But for our health I don't recommend getting kicked in the stomach if we can avoid it! Notice I am receiving the punch or pressure with my palm and not my stomach or face ha ha. To a certain extent you are quite right it's possible! But I didn't want to give unrealistic or unhealthy expectations ha ha. Thank you for your comment and I'm happy to keep sharing more of this side of Tai Chi with you!

Interesting action and explanation as it relates to Ting Jin and Fajin, unfortunately not having personally experience it, it is a foreign/empty concept to me for lack of better words. And i have no one near me that can show and/or teach me. Maybe some day.

Yes it's a really interesting thing and I remember growing up reading it and wanting to know more about it and experience it too! So I will gradually share more and more on this channel in ways that can make sense and help people understand. Because I want to see this art flourish and that means we will go beyond the unnecessary tradition of secrecy, and bring a modern understanding to help all of us grow!

I like this art and your explanation, and I know there were and are people who reached the high level, but if you are not yet at the high level, you don't need to show something with exaggerated reactions by your friend, this will hurt and make fun of this martial art. thank you
