It hits hard when you realise that tai lung wasn't wrong. His master was everything to him and when he didn't do anything for him when he was denied to the destiny, the dream which shifu always showed to tai lung, I understand why he was so mad. A master should go against whole world for his students if he knows that it wasn't student's fault. It was the master's and upon realising his (shifu's) mistake, he should take pride in himself and stand up for his student. But instead he left tai lung alone which made him a villain. And on top of that, he had to face 20 years of prison. It's messed up. Also tai lung's predator behaviour doesn't help

Shifu shouldn't have told Tai Lung he would be the Dragon Warrior, that was his mistake. It's why the pendulum swung the other way too much with Tigress who he rarely ever praised. He knows Oogway is right so he shouldn't have went against him as you said, but he should have still said that Tai Lung would be a legendary Kung Fu master. Though I imagine he did and this didn't stop Tai Lung from rampaging but can't know for sure. I hope Tai Lung gets some redemption in Kung Fu Panda 4, would love to see him learn to accept his destiny.

And considering the fact he then turned to terrorising thousands of innocent people when he was told no shows he was never fit to be the dragon warrior

@@zededs23 We're talking about Shifu not Oogway. Read the comment I replied with. The point is that Tai Lung was raised wrong by Shifu, telling him he'd be Dragon Warrior as his destiny. Oogway should have intervened though.

​@@blackcat1208game I agree Tai Lung is stronger though it does clearly say Shifu couldn't fight him, so it's possible Shifu could have used the Wuxi finger hold back when they first fought but we can't know for sure. He couldn't defeat him in the last fight though, but unsure if Shifu is really trying to hurt him yet.

I never understood....oogay alwys shows off his wisdom and the knowledge of self-discovery but when he sees tailung and rejects him as dragaon warrior then why did not he take him as refuge ..where was oogway's wisdom when tai lung became alone with dispair. The main villain is first SHIFU and then .OOGWAY for his lack of wisdom in consoling and helping find tai lung his inner peace

The reason Oogway rejected Tai Lung is because he saw Kai in him. He was so desperate for recognition and power like Kai that he was willing to harm all the emotional connections he had.

He probably knew it was the real Dragon Warrior's destiny to defeat him, or that Tai Lung could have escaped the spirit world as Kai did. But also it could be hope that Tai Lung would change while in prison, or that Shifu wouldn't want him to die.
