Sealed all the way! Very nice, I love that road, but haven't done it for a long time, hunted off it too, there used to be a lot of deer about as well...... It's on my list again for when I next up North. Thanks for the video. 😎

Learnt to ski on the Gentle Annie round Ngamatea when the road was closed...good times!!

The Gentle Annie road has a terrible reputation -- at least from the 50's, 60's & 70's. It was unsealed, very twisty, and had plenty of bad spots. I drove over it in in the summer of about 2005 from Hawkes Bay to Taihape. By then, the greater part of it was sealed and the rest was a fairly decent unsealed surface. I enjoyed the then very easy drive.
