This is so wonderful! About 20 years ago I learned this out of a book (!), so my style was all wrong, but I loved it and did it for years. Then nine years ago I had a stroke and completely lost all memory of how to do it. Recently I've been thinking of trying to get it back. I still have the book, but with my brain damage I can't make heads or tails of it. I've been looking at several videos, and yours is especially lovely. Having the name of the forms on the screen really helps. Thank you so much for sharing this!

Hello Suzzette..I am practicing Tai Chi with two groups and beginning the sword. Where did you learn so well?

Hello Tim, oh in various places! I first learnt sword in 1996 at Celestial Tai Chi College and that form was quite different in style. In the last ten years I’ve refined it using Jesse Tsao’s video (Tai Chi Healthways) and also went to a workshop run by Professor Lily Sun from Wulong Tai Chi that really focussed on the standardised/competition style elements. I also used James Drewe’s book, Taiji Jian 32-Posture Sword Form to understand a bit more about the applications. And then there’s KZbin as well of course - I particularly like Master Faye Yip and Master Tary for this form as they have that lineage and are probably the most accurate around (as far as I understand) for 32 Sword. It’s a great journey learning the sword and I hope you enjoy it immensely!

Gteat stuff i like the animal s appearing in your videos i am re learning this form after learning with Gordon Faulkner in Scotland and Simon Watson in Hertfordshire The bat flu crises disrupted our classes but it a gteat form to include in ones regular practise thank you for your enrhusiam

@@davidmiller4078 Bat flu, goodness! That's something we haven't had in Australia (yet?) Yes this is definitely a good form for regular practise - plenty of detail to focus on, but not too physically taxing unless you want it to be.😊
