Crosding that center line at high speeds and causing an accident should equal jail time.

I've ridden one of those a couple times. They just aren't right. They are just as squirrely as those old Honda 3 wheelers in the 80's.
@jdrosner1
@jdrosner1 Жыл бұрын
They do command a different skill set and and are great on the open road. Twisties, not so much. The second most dangerous wheel configuration only to be out-done by by the three in back one in front kits. Terrible idea. The trike problem is that just about any control input sends weight to the front left or right where there is no wheel to bear it. This problem was addressed by CanAm with the Spyder and more recently by Vanderhall, a Utah company with a side by side three based on the powertrain from the Chevy Cruze.

I wonder if the can ams handle better then the three wheelers, never road either so I wouldn’t know.

@@s1kdkYes I can confirm that the Can am definitely handles better. Pretty wide stance along with power steering. They do take quite a bit of getting used to though unfortunately.

Stay safe out there Side note: We gotta work on an outro for every video, just you walking around the bike or talking over some riding footage. Well done for helping. If you've ever ridden a trike you'll know they're only ever safe when ridden in reverse gear, and I'm not even joking. A couple of key points. Don't go to the riders aid first - one of you should have directed the traffic on the crash site side of the road to avoid another potential nasty accident - think racing Porsche GT3's. And why are you in Race mode, and only using 4k revs most of the time? "Killing the game" Max Wrist style you ain't! Switch to Road mode and a lower gear when necessary, to smooth the power delivery and aid (manual and electronic) traction through those 318 curves... keep up the good work!

Rode it last summer for the first time. My son got his license in the fall and the next spring we headed there. If he can ride it on months of experience and not crash then these guys are idiots. We had a blast and are going back spring 2024
@vondahartsock-oneil3343

That's an ignorant thing to say. I'm 56, starting riding at age 9. Never had a crash, rode by the rules, never split lanes, hated highway riding. Here we have paved wide open back roads everyone rides. Then a few summers ago, just a few blocks from my house, I was going up a winding hilly road and didn't take the curve and did what old man did here. Accidents happen. Just cause your son with "months" of experience didn't have a crash. THOUSANDS to millions ride that yrly and do not crash. Seldom is it something you've done, but what you perceive the oncoming as doing. Go ride it again. Have a blast but stay away from calling ppl idiots. Perhaps you hit a rock and lose control. You want everyone on yt calling you an idiot? I don't think so. Besides, few riders in this world, go their riding lifetime without experiencing at least one crash, bike falling over etc...shit happens. Dress for it.

ive ridden the dragon hundreds and hundreds of times starting back in 06 when I bought a busa and still do it today with my zx14r. ive seen a few crashes in those years. a few deaths and in that, they have comprised of both sport bikes and cruisers of various types. probably close to an even split with a little more cruisers since its such a technical road to ride and most of your cruiser types come from some distance to ride it for the first time or once every few years etc. the vast majority of the time it seems that skill level is the main component. combined sometimes with ego. its not a road to bring your ego with you. in any case riding your own ride is crucial. rider skill on this road is vital .... most don't ever actually practice riding, turning, braking, lane position. etc. they think they don't need it. I can tell you everyone needs to constantly practice. it is a fleeting skill set and most of us have to put the bike up for the winter so in essence we have to start over every year. I can tell you as an NUCPS instructor it really is vital to practice practice practice ..just because you have ridden a bike for decades does not mean you are any good at it. at the end of the day this is just a road. its not a monster. stay in your own lane and never ride beyond your 80% and you will be fine. you cant help what else happens but with training and practice you can mitigate what happens to you from other riders and vehicles. Aside from that the Dragon and the other roads around there are Nirvana to me. Most fun you can have with your clothes on....lololol..... Oh and one more thing. If you are new to riding and or you haven't practiced your skills. please stay off the dragon. don't be the guy that goes down to the dragon for the first time because you heard about it and wanted to get yourself a tshirt and ends up in the hospital with broken bones and a destroyed bike. or worse yet hurt someone else and end up getting sued on top of that.

If you're surprised that there are crashes? Guys, it's a public road and not a race track. If you want to race, you should go to a closed route.

Group rides scare me, a lot of hot headed 18 year olds thinking they’re invincible ruin the fun and not take safety seriously. I feel like you have to be riding for a good 2 years and keep your ego at home before you can go on group rides. That’s why I usually only ride with my 2 friends that we both know exactly what we are gonna do because we have been riding together for so long. I KNOW that he ALWAYS stays on the right side of the road. I’m ALWAYS on the left.

Nobody died this time. I get the fun it is having sport and cruisers but you gotta pick your times to let loose. A lot of fatalities out there are people hitting you head on in your own lane. You don’t want to be either party in that situation.

I don't mean to be mean or anything. I was watching and noticed you were turning in way too early at times. For example at 6:15, you could def wait a bit later and turn in, then drive through the corner. Trailbraking would help you feel more comfy faster, but at that speed, just engine braking, turn in, then accelerate is good. just my opinion

@@s1kdk Sorry if I was rude. Just something I noticed, and figured I should mention it. Just because at higher speed it'll send you off the road or you'd have to lean more, etc.

@hincapiej4 I actually thinking fast speed curves are a LOT easier for me, slow paced like the dragon is harder. I don’t have a lot of roads in my state that mimic that kind of speed and curves.
@hincapiej4
@hincapiej4 5 ай бұрын
@s1kdk it might feel easier because you are going through the turn faster and don't have time to notice what might be wrong. One thing I take from being a musician, if you can't do it slow, you can't do it fast. So habits you do when slow, you definitely do fast.

Respect on your slower speed though,safer,, Zero reason to try to put your knee down on the dragon, speeds too slow, overlean and youll wash out,, trust me, your tires, public roads, and low low experience is what gets guys hurt.. Its hilarious to watch, drag knee with track slicks and corner speeds of 60+

Really terrible bodyposition on the guy in front of you. He puts the butt to the side and his knee out, but his upper body i counterleaning. That does absolutely make no sense! The part of your body, that has the most impact on how much you need to lean the bike, is your upper body. - That right there, just seems like he wants a knee down no matter what - Correct body position doesnt mean knee down, it means taking the corner as fast as possible with as little lean as possible, because you're using you body correctly 😅

Trikes are hard to ride. They are OK for going straight but the Tail of the Dragon is not a place to ride them. Trikes just do not take curves well. Same goes for the liter bikes, they are fine for going straight but do not handle curves well. Of all the bikes made liter bikes are the slowest and clumsiest in the curves. Trikes and liter bikes are the bikes that do the most crashing. The Tail of the dragon is loaded with people that like to ride fast bikes slow and out of control. Be very careful at the Tail of the Dragon as you can get hurt by these out of control riders, they do not even realize that they are out of control, until they crash. Cheers.
This Rider is Really Insane 🤕
