I couldn't decide but there was only a sports version on the used market in my size. Someone else took the decision for my first pod harness 😆.

I have flown about 20 hours with the standard version of the D4. It's my first pod and I immediately felt comfortable on flights of 2 hours max with moderate turbulence and some wing closures. I have added bungee for direct entry into the pod, and I have changed the position where the acceleration is caught on the plate removing it from the middle to the base since it was bothering me when moving the legs to enter & use the acceleration. I also plan to add a velcro to the handle of the reserve, since the handle often has a tendency to unclip from its position during packing & unpacking. I loved how little space D4 took up in my bag, even though the company didn't compromise on protection. I never expected to feel so comfortable with my first pod. Thank you for the nice review.

I picked up the sport version of this pod this spring and I think it is good but two points of improvement for the next generation: having a zipper on the front plate to store concertina bag as this would also help with getting in the pod as "AD socks" has this feature. Also a removable/replaceable speedbag would be nice as I expect this part of the harness to get the most wear over the life of the harness. For reference I am upgrading from the original generation one genie gin lite which had the last feature. The back protection and storage is much bigger in the SUPAIR D4 sport as compared to previous and the harness is very stable. Love your review keep up the great work!

Enjoying my D4 standard as fist pod, very comfortable stable and reassuring. I like having the seatboard. Agree a replaceable speedbag would be nice, the fabric is quite thin and I can see it getting ripped. Getting in is a little difficult but nothing that cant be handled. Hole for drink tube is a bit small and fiddly.. overall an 8/10 for me.

The footplate is bigger than most - agreed!👍 I'm guessing that's probably following pilot feet-back (ya see what I did there? 😉) and a common complaint about footplates being too small! 🐾😅 As the saying goes: “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time”. 🤓 My feet are on the bigger side so I'm happy with the bigger footplate! 😊

Thanks for the video, I was not aware of the different storage space between the 2. It would be interesting to know how the 4 compares to the 3 regarding Front Container Visibility. I currently have the 3 and always face the problem that the weight of my instruments pushes the front container into an unfavourable angle. I heard this might be different with the 4.

The Delight 4 cockpit is much better, due to it's improved design and buckle which clips to the waist strap and holds everything in a better position.

I've been flying this harness (the sport version) for a month or two now and everything you guys said was spot-on. I absolutely love the stability of this harness. It makes me able to tolerate rough air (by my standards) longer than I would on any other harness. I've had some amazing little mountain XC flights on it. I'm also experiencing a little trouble getting my feet in without a bungee, but it's no big deal for me. This is hands down my favorite harness ever, unless I'm going Superlight. Then the Strike 1 and 2 take the cake. I do wish it had an under-seat storage compartment for water ballast.

​@@FreeFlightGuy to be fair, it's quite tidily integrated into the harness, slightly hidden behind the foldable back protector, so unless you look for it or - dare I say it, perish the thought - read the product info or user manual 😉 it could be easily overlooked. 🤓 (Actually the truth is we snuck into your place whilst you were away on vacation and surreptitiously added one to your harness, just to freak you out - haha! 😜)

If I understand you well the storage is bigger on the normal version than on the sport one. Compared to the 3? Switching from it to the 4? The 3's backpack is ridiculous...

I marveled at all the very small clip closures, the safety buckle (impossible to close with one hand or with gloves on), and the (missing) fixation of the handle of the reserve parachute. The connectors for the speed cables always flip in when the speed lines are not yet attached.

I think that the little attachment of the anti-fall-out is so poorly designed, that you cannot close or open it with one hand and certainly not with gloves on or cold hands. Secondly, the handle for grabbing the reserve pocket fails to have a velcro attachment on the pod; now the handle is too loose and quickly gets released unwanted. The plastic quick-release fasteners are also very small. The speed lines easily slip inside the harness if they are not yet hitched; something should be attached here that prevents them from slipping in. The question remains why all these fasteners are not a bit easier and bigger, in terms of weight it will make very little difference. Otherwise a fine harness with good and easy adjustability.

You don’t need a bungee just use good technique getting in… I’ve not had a problem and it’s my first pod also

be carrefull with comfotable harness, some accidents occure with sleeping pilotes...
