Your review was the tipping point for me to buy my Rad Rover 6 Plus Step-Through late September 2023. I also got the rear rack, large basket custom mounted lengthwise and basket liner. I'm 70 and live in Missoula Montana. I love this bike. It fits me and my needs. I use the Kryptonite chain lock as it's lighter than the ABUS and I just carry it in the basket. Thanks for steering my purchase correctly.

I've found Rad has different components on their bikes sometimes. it varies from where you get it. One bike will have leather grips and tektro parts, and another can have rubber grips and nutt parts. not a big deal but I thought it was interesting. mine had rubber grips, no jumper cable, Nutt parts, and a Shimano Deore derailleur. good bike though.

You should include ground clearance to strike frame or Front Sprocket . pedal to ground clearance. Foot peg to fender or wheel distance when tire is turned. Some bikes have lower frame clearance and some you can hit your foot on the fender turning.. Maybe toss up specs you measured so we can pause the video and check.. Include bar length and back of seat to bar distance. Put it up so we can pause and look.

I'm quite disappointed by the lack of torque of this bike, especially for a 750W motor.
@joshpointoh Жыл бұрын
Yeah I was surprised. Seems most bikes can get up the hill giving 600w
@zeppast Жыл бұрын
Yeah because it's not a true 750w motor it's a 500w motor that peaks to 750w max. RAD Power bikes should really mention this on their website but they don't which is misleading. A true 750w motor will peak well above 750 watts (1000w plus). They do this for legal reasons but if the customer isn't aware of this they are spending more money for less performance compared to other options on the market.
@Floridaprophet Жыл бұрын
@@zeppast100% truth. I have a Senada Saber, with a 1000w continuous motor, I watch it peaks to 1400w, 1500w all the time on the controller display. Goes up overpasses and hills at 25mph with no problem. These 500w fat tire bikes are very underpowered for the amount of mass they’re moving.
@zeppast Жыл бұрын
@@Floridaprophet I agree fat tire e-bikes should come with 750w hub motors minimum. As you mentioned these bikes are on average anywhere from 70lbs to 100lbs in some cases. With that much weight you need more power and torque. From a legal standpoint I totally get why RAD Power is doing this but from a consumer perspective they are screwing a lot of people over. It would be different if they actually mentioned this discrepency in their marketing material on their website but they don't which from an ethical standpoint is concerning in my opinion. Unfortunately I feel like the e-bike industry might be forced to adopt what RAD Power is doing as some states like California are now cracking down on e- bikes. Some other states may follow forcing manufactures to comply with Federal over regulation which is never a good thing.
@andrewstephens2687 Жыл бұрын
@@zeppast this Convo just made me realize how insane it is to legislate motor power rather than the output in terms of speed limit. If the wattage limits were being followed, every heavy bike would be underpowered and a super light road bike with a 750 mid drive could easily do 45mph+ while being totally legal. Riders in traffic being held to usual traffic laws, and adding speed limits to bike paths/greenways/etc seems like the obvious solution, am I missing something?

🙏 thanks! I just spent a handful of minutes looking over the spec sheet on it for you, I don’t really see any reason why not to get it other than maybe price is a bit premium, but good features are included no doubt. I like that it has the included suspension seat post just like on the bike in this review. I cannot speak for how good the torque sensor is, I know sometimes they feel better on some bikes compared to others. The battery seems like the right size for that bike, and Samsung cells. If it were not for the Vanpowers urban glide ultra topping out at 20 mph, I’d tell you to take a look at that one, because that was an excellent bike for a similar price, but if 28 mph is essential for you then you’ll have to skip that one. The hovsco city cruiser I reviewed was also excellent and very similar specs compared to the euphree, I can tell you for sure the hovsco torque sensor was two thumbs up. Hope this helps, I don’t have any plan to be getting the euphree any time soon but I bet you’d be happy with it. If your heart is set on it, grab it and enjoy the rest of the warm weather this year. Review of the suntour suspension seat post is almost helpful. The ultra cheap "accordion" suspension seat posts do not bob, or interfere with pedaling. I've seen a previous review of yours (iirc) where you called the suntour better than some rear suspension setups, but I don't remember you bobbing like a clown, then. Have you tried preload adjustments on this one? Is it preset for lower weight? I understand you just want a motor cycle, but that would seem like a deal breaker for people who want bicycles. Also dangerous for handling/endo on extreme rutty high speed roads/paths.

Yeah if you're a heavier person or if you want power and speed do not buy anything from Rad Power bikes their bikes are extremely conservative in regards to peak power and torque. A "750w motor" from them is basically a 500w nominal motor with a peak of 750 watts max and a lower amp controller so it's a bit misleading. RAD Power does this to comply with federal e-bike laws. The problem is every other manufacturer selling 750w bikes offers true 750w nominal motors that peak well above 750 wats (1000w+). So with that being said if you like power and speed and torque RAD Power isn't for you their bikes are some of the most underpowered bikes on the market. Rad Power should really disclose that their "750w" motors are really 500w hub motors. If you look on their website they don't say anything about this which is really a bad look as it's misleading to their customer base.

We have had the bike for about a week and already the throttle has decided to stop working. The pedal assist works but no throttle. I went to the on line chat and waited over and hour and a half to speak with someone, and unfortunately missed them due to having a life instead of sitting in front of my computer waiting......However they were kind enough to send me a list of useless "trouble shooting" things I could try. Nothing like spending 2k on a bike only to have to try to fix it yourself during your 1 year "warranty". If I wanted to mess around trying to fix things myself I would have just built one myself not bought one that is built with a warranty, it seems according to Rad that the purchaser is the warranty. Follow up. Rad offers nothing for warranty (including a broken bike out of the box) other than extensive procedures for trouble shooting then will send you the new parts.......once you have jumped through all of their hoops effectively. Maybe at that time they will send you some parts.....that you get to install or pay a bike shop to do for you. For the love of God do not buy one of these. I cannot state that loud enough!!!!!!!!!!!! RUN DONT WALK AWAY FROM THESE BIKES. CAUSE YOU SURE AS HELL WONT BE ABLE TO BIKE AWAY. oH AND PREPARE TO WAIT UPWARDS OF AN HOUR JUST TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE ONLINE THAT "HELPS" YOU. Below is pert of the conversation I had with one of the on line reps, basically what she is saying is that sometimes the bikes are well built and sometime they are shit. When a shit one goes out it is the customers responsibility to show us what we did wrong so we can maybe send you parts so you can fix it yourself. What a great service, hopefully at some point your bike will work, and in the meantime you get to be an unlicensed e bike mechanic. And all you had to do was trade 2500 bucks for a broken bike. """""""""""ut of the box, some of our bikes will need little to no tuning or adjustments. Others will need a more thorough going over. For those who just don’t feel up to attempting the needed tuning and adjustments please seek out help from your Local Bike Shop (LBS). Expect to pay for this service and inquire ahead of time what the charges may be. Examples of tune-ups that are the new bike owner’s responsibility are but are not limited to: Troubleshooting, installation of replacement parts, Brake adjustments, Brake Rotor Truing,"""""""""

I notice that this video is carefully edited using fast cuts, so as not to show any aspect of the bike for too long, or not enough for close look at anything specific. There are close up shots but the cuts are so quick that one has to pause the video for a good look at anything. I wonder if this is just an editing style which is fine if the purpose of the video is for entertainment or perhaps marketing? I would like to see a video designed to educate.

My wife and I own to city 5+ for two years now. We have 1700 miles on them and start having motor in electrical problems with the bikes. The bikes were never driven in the rain and they look like brand new bikes. Dealing with red is horrible their customer service is atrocious it cost us almost $1000 to get our bikes back on the road. I would never buy or recommend this bike company just because of their customer service it’s horrible

Great reviews! I'm currently looking for a budget friendly e-bike. One thing that is a consideration for me is how these bikes work under pedal power only, (assuming dead battery). Also can you turn the pedal assist off if you just want the exercise.

Maybe also a rolling resistance test would be good, like maybe a timed downhill run no power, just coasting on a set course.

i bought the EUY s4 based on your review-i am 6'2'' tall --this bike does not fit a person over 5'7" in my opinion--if you sit back on the banana seat it wants to do a wheelie--it is hard to peddle even when back--if forward no way a tall person can pedal--off road,even dirt roads this thing is almost useless---you must get paid well to give a review that a tall person can't use-it does have good power

I’m sorry you aren’t happy with it man, I tried my best to give it a fair analysis. It sounds like the “moped style” is the issue, but basically any moped style bike is not good to actually pedal, especially for tall people, which I try my best to emphasize in those videos without being too redundant, moped style e-bikes are not really intended for pedaling

I'm confused, why is the high step so much cheaper when it's basically the same exact bike?
@oWASTINGTIMEo7 ай бұрын
From my understanding the step through is way more popular and better seller
