Veerapans associates were actually only 4 or 5 people throughout in which only 2 of them decides everything - Veerapan himself and his very close friend Sethukuli govindan who was distant relative to Veerapan and been traveling alongside veerpan since age 12 or 13 ! The rest are workers from local tribe who worked under Veerapan helping him to cut and carry sandle trees and for daily wages ( it is reported veerpan always paid more than what they asked for ) Most of people who got arrested for being know as veerpan associates are actually innocent people who had to survive day to day - they were pretty much wage workers and hunters ( their only source of surving ) Since police Started to arrest them and charge them with fake cases and treat them mercilessly in name of interrogation to catch veerapan , the misuse of power and authority and the approach of police which triggered Veerapan - And what followed was series of consequences ! Action and reaction .

Truth is Nobody could even get close to catch veerapan - even when they had him in firing sight he was clever enough to escape ! Veerapan had a lot of support throughout the region - police had to cross the limits and justice & had go against law to show their dominance over Veerapan - Veerapan was never even close of getting caught , he was even extremely rare to spot ! Vijay Kumar followed a strategy to cut all Veerapans suppliers and had him starving ! It took a lot of time for him to do that which he eventually did and open a door for Veerapan to get supplies from his very own relatives in which the food supply was poisoned ( even his relatives were unaware of it and the fact that it was Police setup ) and that's how veerpan was poisoned to death , it even took them 2 days to find his dead body !
