Great job, why can't more animators make TV shows with an art process like this, instead of making flat looking flash cartoons? This is how I like to animate as well, using nothing but photo editing software, and traditional hand drawn animating with a touch art pad for PC, and digital coloring and shading. I'm working on a short bit starring Sonic and Amy, and it's being made in a similar way you made yours.

It's because it takes a lot more time. Animated television shows have to be produced quite quickly in order to follow a schedule. Likewise, they can't afford to spend the time it takes to do this manual shading and frame-by-frame animation. Don't get me wrong, I wish TV shows were animated like this too! It's just too hard.

SpinDashpro Ever since Cowboy Bebop, I've lost faith in this animation coming back.

***** Don't you mean after Cowboy Bebop ended? Because I'm pretty sure the show looked very detailed, and nothing like a lazy flash animation. As far as I know, the only non anime TV shows that are hand drawn, and still running with new episodes are Spongebob, Legend of Korra, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, and Regular Show.

SpinDashpro No, it's because businesses are too cheap, greedy, and impatient to actually work hard at entertainment. Companies now in days don't care about entertaining, they only care about getting tricking people to viewing their garbage, and get paid for it. They don't care what people thought of it, as long as it got views. They treat their audiences like idiots, instead of actually getting people excited for something. I remember growing up, TV channels actually did a decent job with advertising TV specials or events. I remember when they'd tease a new episode of Spongebob for instance, they actually set it up to look like it was worth looking into. Now in days, they promote their shows by adding in farting, talking about poop, and all this other inappropriate garbage. I miss shows that actually had plots, humor, and clever dialogue. It's pretty sad that you can look cartoons from the late 1930s, and point out how they were more attentive to detail than anything today. With all the technology that's evolved, you think people would actually use that to make their cartoons look better, instead they use them to rush them, and make them look 1 dimensional. I really want to be an official animator someday, but it's hard to pursue my goal, when businesses don't treat it with the same passion and care that I do, or any other animation lover for that matter.

Yes, I meant after Cowboy Bebop. That show was completely done by hand frame for frame. And I loved it. Animation quality was amazing even when holding up to now. But nowadays you've got really cheap flash animation or GMod equivalent CG...

the age of software means nothing so long as the talent of the artist is still on top form :)

I just love your animations. They run so smoothly. Even your rough sketches like the Sonic/Batman intro and Knuckleduster. I don't know how you do it, but you never cease to amaze me. :)
