U$A will never able to compete in Chip manufacturing. All the country that do well in chip manufacturing , has Confucianism culture. For chip manufacturing, a high level of discipline is the key, and most Americans today don't possess it. They call it “forced labour" Taiwanese media reported on August 2 that TSMC claimed the production holdup at its Arizona facility was caused by a shortage of trained American labour and that they had sent staff from Taiwan to assist with the factory's development. Labour union officials in Arizona, on the other hand, criticised TSMC for exploiting this as a justification to bring in "low-wage foreign labour."

If China attack Taiwan then TSMC, Taiwan company can stop production chip in China and then Huawei Oppo Vivo Wuling BYD TCL etc China electronic product company will getting chip shortage and will face problem.. So why TSMC is important to prevent China attack Taiwan.. thank to USA and ASML...

Correction. Taiwanese call this company ASMC. ASMC foreign shareholding ratio, ~73.37 percent own by Emerica. ASMC actually an Emerica company. Taiwanese are just labour.

There is only ONE CHINA in the opinion of both sides of the strait. A smooth peaceful unification is called for that will benefit both sides. China is not a country of two systems, but many systems governed by mutual respect.

A significant amount of controlling shares of TSMC are in the hands of Americans or other foreigners. It is not a fully owned Taiwanese company.

TSMC was not "heavily" invested in the 80s... In fact no foreign company except Phillips invested in it and the only local investor, Formosa Plastic, didn't even know what a semiconductor was.
