The soup looks very delicious! I am glad you enjoyed the 228 Memorial Museum. I visited both Taiwan and South Korea earlier this year and visited many history museums, and I was struck by the similarities and also the big differences in the histories of the nations after 1945.

You're right. Korea and Taiwan have similar history, but there are quite a few differences. I think Korea is more dynamic. 😄

대만 사람들 굉장히 친절하던데… 다정한 품성을 가진 국민들이 그렇게 오랫동안 계엄령로 탄압 받았다니 역사를 몰랐을땐 그냥 친절하구나~ 였는데 알고나니 마음이 더 아프네요.. 😢 뜻깊은 여행이셨겠어요 나님!

맞아요. 역사를 알고 보니 더 마음이 가는 나라였어요. 대만도 국민당이랑 민진당이랑 갈등이 심해서 참 걱정입니다. 😔

대만의 역사에 대해선 거의 몰랐는데 덕분에 조금이나마 알게 되어 뭔가 동포같은 느낌이 드네요. 쏸촤이위 는 (개인적으로) 먹고싶다아아 하는 비주얼은 아닌것 같은데 마라탕과 똠양꿍 맛이라고 하시니 너무 궁금하고 맛보고 싶어졌어요 ! 집에서만 보내는데도 괜히 들뜨는 금요일 저녁에 아직 네 번째 영상이 남아있다는 신나는 소식을 들으며 재미있게 감상하고 갑니다~ 첫 번째 두 번째 영상에서는 모르고 지나갔는데 세 번째 영상에서 갑자기 저 중학교 때 Panpal 친구가 대만학생이었다는게 떠올랐지 뭐예요. 흐흐.

Oh, my! What a big yawn! Imagine all that going on around me. I was born in 1946 blissfully unaware of the world I was entering. American Civil War facts: 1. Roughly 2% of the population, an estimated 620,000 men, lost their lives in the line of duty. Taken as a percentage of today's population, the toll would have risen as high as 6 million souls. The human cost of the Civil War was beyond anybody's expectations. 2. The American Civil War is the conflict with the largest number of American military fatalities in history. In fact, the Civil War's death toll is comparable to all other major wars combined, the deadliest of which were the World Wars, which have a combined death toll of more than 520,000 American fatalities. 3. Currently we have many reenactments each year. I feel like you do but too many here think it is fun. My relatives were in the War and I don't visit the memorials because of horror of it all. I feel like that precious man who did those beautiful carvings. The Three Sisters and To the West are representative of what we call Zen. You can get books for colouring them in and are considered very relaxing and good for you. I do not understand modern art either. But I found those 'footprints' fascinating. So happy you shared your lovely trip to Taiwan. It was fun just to watch. I hope you do get to go again. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from those of us who celebrate.
