Starbucks barista here lol. A flat white is the same as a latte but made with ristresso shots which are pulled faster and have a more smooth flavor and whole milk instead of 2% :)

Flat white is always my go too, I love the flavor of the ristretto shots so much more than regular espresso, and flat whites also have less milk than a latte, so there is a more intense coffee flavor.

Also Starbucks... A cappuccino is the same components as a latte, but a latte only has a small layer of foam, and a cappuccino is about half foam, which gives it a lighter texture and makes the espresso taste stronger :)

FINALLY! BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR AGES!!!!!! Taiwan heck yes! For anyone who wants to come to Taiwan, y'all don't have to worry about anything. The people are extremely warm and welcoming. Many touristic areas can be easily accessed unless they're waterfalls and so on.

Yes yes please come back to Taiwan when you go to South Korea. There is also Tainan which is the hmm.... food capital I should say, and it is very rich in culture. Close to the south of Taiwan, it gets more cultural. Do enjoy when you travel the coast though :D It's beautiful

I'm thrilled that you'd gotten a chance to visit Taiwan. I was born and raised in Taipei and live in Seattle. I'm very pleased to see this video because you described it best- It is underrated. It is clean and safe and beautiful. Inexpensive. The food and people are what make this island a gem. It's nicknamed Formosa for a reason! I hope you get to do some makeup shopping next time you're there because that's where I get my beauty haul a couple times a year. You don't need to speak the local language to tour Taiwan. English is pretty much written everywhere and people can handle simple English conversation. Even if they don't. They will do everything they can to help you. That's the spirit of island of Taiwan. -Ariel

Okay...that was seriously one of the nicest hostels I have ever seen. I stayed in a couple years and years ago in Spain and Italy and boy let me tell you, they did not look like this. This is not the typical bunk beds in a room lol.

I love your vlogs so much! And to answer your question about the difference between a latte, cappuccino, and a flat white (by Starbucks standards). A flat white is made with ristretto shots (less water is pushed through the espresso to, in a sense, condense the flavor) and steamed whole milk. A latte is regular espresso shots and steamed 2% milk with light foam, and a cappuccino is regular espresso shots with steamed 2% milk and heavy foam! I hope that helped! The difference between a regular latte and a flat white is a flat white is made with whole milk rather than 2% and ristretto shots (which the machine pulls shorter shots that taste lighter and more caramelized than regular esspresso shots). The most important part of the flat white is how the milk is steamed and poured. The barista wants to steam the milk so that "micro bubbles" form on top making the milk smooth in consistency then as they go to pour the milk they make sure that the width of the milk stream is equivalent to the width of a pencil and as the milk rises they bring the pitcher and stream closer forming a white dot on top preferably in the middle. so you can think of a flat white being that kind of hug you need after a really shitty week from your mom or dad and a latte being like a good conversation. one is made with more care and detail while the other is simple uncomplicated and easy going.

Hayley Keaton Yes, it's absolutely a thing! Lol. I'm pretty sure the longer you watch an ad, it pays the creator more. Like let's say an ad was 1 min long, giving you the option to skip at the 10 second mark or something, if you watch it 'til the 30 second mark or 40 second mark or whatever and THEN click skip ad, it pays more. Basically, the longer you watch an ad, the more it pays!

Flat White are made with "half shots" (for lack of a better description) of espresso so you only get the sweet, concentrated espresso and not any of the bitter/watered down part that can happen in full shots. Its a much sweeter flavor. Try a vanilla flat white with extra vanilla ;)
