I spent a week in Taipei. What a nice place. Great food and great everything! I can't wait to go back. The people made the vacation so memorable, helpful, friendly, and nice. I have seldom felt as safe and comfortable as I did on that vacation.

My son was an exchange student in 09/10 and my husband, parents, and I went to visit in June 2010. It was an amazing place and I would go back in a heartbeat. Food was incredible, the people were so friendly and nice, the scenery was breathtaking, and so many amazing museums and historical places to visit. No way to do it in one trip.

Stuff like that is slowly being phased out because most of the newer generations find it too cruel. Shrimp fishing centers for example are barely in business now that only very old people go there.

I do not live near the night markets(neither my college) so personally night markets are not my daily choice.But one thing is for sure,Taipei's night markets are all for the local people for decades and every time I go there(2 3 times per month) I enjoy it.but in other cities such as Kaoshiung or the beach area Kenting,some of the night markets there are mainly for tourists.Sorry for the serious lag.I major in industrial design.

Weird name to call macadamia nuts Hawaii beans! And they may be Hawaiian grown but its an Australian native plant. People seem to not know this! Hot Star is the best fried chicken! We have a few stores in Sydney. Even their fried mushrooms are delish! We even have a few jiggly cheesecake chain stores now! One brand Japanese, one Chinese and one Korean. Sausage in rice bun looked appetizing. The chef was so fast with the ingredients! That cheese hot dog. Wow the cheese pull was insane! Looks like you guys had a wonderful dinner snacking on many yummy items this night :)
