I think the missing ingredient they keep talking about is actually coconut milk, boiled until it separates. That's truly the secret to a good curry. Altho this is supposed to be a Japanese curry, not Indian. But it really looks like Indian preparation with all the spices instead of a block of curry sauce concentrate.

I... you know that block curry sauce concentrate comes from a curry recipe right? It's just premade. That's like saying a pre-ground masala is somehow a different thing than a homemade one. The flavor is going to be more intense on the homemade one but it's still the same flavor.

Episodes like this is why I dont skip one piece filler, least the early ones add so much character content, According to filler Sanji wasnt directly taught to cook by Zeff, he learned by watching and understanding the process, similar to how the kid here learned from Sanji
