I did a video on the Dometic thermostat a while back. The number one question is the fan mode when operating the AC or heat pump. Remember if the fan is on auto it will go on and off with the compressor. If the fan is on low or high it will stay on regardless of the compressor. Also, the user can adjust the differential which is factory set at two degrees. You can change it to one degree which will cycle your ac or heat pump more often but will keep the RVs temperature more even. Great video.

Hi Delaney, I've learned SO MUCH from your T@B videos! I kinda hate you sold yours and moved to another camper brand. Anyway, I have the same 2018 T@B that you "had". Can I run the A/C on house power? Thank you!
@TravelswithDelaney3 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. We loved our 490 but just outgrew it and needed more space. They are a great trailer. When you say house power, do you mean the batteries? If so, most likely not. You’d need probably 400 amp hours of battery, a lot of solar panels and a 3000 watt inverter to do that.

Hi thanks. So where do I put the thermostat on auto when I want it to shut off once in a while on AC . 1 degree above the inside temp or 1 degree Below the inside temp ?
@karenrobertson32672 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video! In my 2021 T@B 400 BD, I get the hot water through the Alde system. How do you get hot water, but keep the heating system off? Just set the temp real low so it doesn't come on?

So if you don't want the heat pump or A/C to come on at all, just want to use the furnace, do you just make sure fan is on Auto and scroll right by the heat pump and A/C option? My furnace is connected to this dometic t-stat. Also, I must have a zoned type of stat because I have a 2nd stat in the upper bedroom in my 5th wheel. No HEAT pump option on this one. Same procedure? Just put fan on auto and scroll past the A/C?? I don't want either A/C unit or the heat pump on the rear unit to come on when using the furnace. I only have one furnace in the trailer. Thank you, Joel

It would all depend on how the manufacturer wired the unit. We don’t have our T@B 400 anymore but if I recall, there was a heat setting as well on our thermostat in addition to the heat pump option. NuCamp just used a separate thermostat for the furnace because it was the Alde.

Love your instructional videos! NüCamp must think everyone is over 5'5"😝 i am going to get a little step to keep in the T@B. Every time i have tried to work with the Cool Cat i have had to climb up on the sofa bench holding onto the wood trim of the cubby area for balance then lean over to work the thermostat. At least now that i have seen your video, i guess i can put in the settings once and then just have to reach on my tippy toes to just turn it on.... right? Or does it go back to default settings?

Linda McCullough The settings should hold for you unless you turn your battery off. A step stool may be the best thing so you don’t fall.

Hello Carl, That’s is what my Son calls you, I bought a T@B 400 in April in Fort Myers Florida. I had to buy a 2nd Yamaha EF2000iSv2, Generator one would not push the Coolcat When the condenser kick on it draws a lot of watts, maybe someone has an Idea about a soft start to reduce that. Love your videos See you down the road, Mitchell Naples Florida

That is so funny that he calls us Carl! You can get an add on accessory that is suppose to reduce that compressor surge. The Wandering Wagner’s recently installed it on their Airstream. Check out their channel.

Thanks for the info! Do you know of a way to change the color of the blue screen? It is very difficult to read. I also have a 400 and the temperature is in Celsius. Do you know how to change that to Fahrenheit? Thank you!

Why did you upgrade to this camper from the hummingbird?
@TravelswithDelaney6 жыл бұрын
The refrigerator in the Hummingbird would not work properly on propane. We had it in for repairs several times and eventually Jayco refused to fix it under warranty. We were frustrated with the poor customer service and decided we wanted a higher quality trailer from a manufacturer with reputable service. We are very pleased with both the trailer and the customer service from NuCamp.

Can the AC be run off battery or propane? If not, how do you keep cool when boondocking?
@gregadcox66786 жыл бұрын
The AC in the 400 needs shore power. We keep cool by boondocking in Maine in July! :)

What's the advantage of using heat pump vs regular heater?
@TravelswithDelaney6 жыл бұрын
Here at our home, we have a heat pump that we use when we can just because its cheaper to operate than our propane furnace. Now in the Tab 400, the Alde can be ran on either propane or electric so that argument gets thrown out the window. I do believe (although I haven't ran tests to prove it) that he heat pump cranks out heat quicker than the Alde does. The radiant heat is great but can be slow to actually heat up.

Can the tab be used in winter months? Is it a four season camper?
@TravelswithDelaney6 жыл бұрын
+Jessica Law It has an enclosed underbelly. We know a 400 owner who added tank heaters so that they can use it in four seasons.
