Nawwww they cut using dental floss or thread cuz you get the pressure from all around and you get a cleaner cut. If you use a knife you risk smashing the entire thing or just getting everything's ng squished or the filling comes out and just somethin. It's a known hack if you ever make cinnamon rolls or roll cake they'll usually tell you to do that
