I'm not a hater, but why not just slide an egg sinker onto main line, install a sinker stop (a tiny pinch-on split shot works fine), and tie on your hook. One knot, no convoluted safety pin work, and you're fishing a slip sinker, not a fixed one.

Beautiful rigging work. If you are 71 years old like I am, your fingers do not work as well as they used to 50 years ago. Not complaining, I am very thankful that I have made it this far and like to add to it. Thank you Lord.
