Love the video. Many of the photos are from the Nini-Treadwelll Collection and the ones from our book "LOVING A Photographic History of Men in Love 1850s - 1950s" are on time stamps: 2:25, 2:54, 3:33, 6:28, 6;56, 7:55 8:26, and 8:23. :)

A lot of this is viewing old photos through a contemporary lens. Some, however, the connection is unmistakable.

Agreed 100%. Some is "wishful" reimagining and some is "oh yeah." We'll never know the full story, but our intent is to be as affectionate and playful as the gents in the photos. We don't always live up to that goal, but we definitely try.

My guess is it depends on who you ask. After looking at THOUSANDS of photos, the biggest shift I've noticed happened just after WWII, right about the time the first Kinsey Report came out. While the research was intended to "normalize" that sexuality is a spectrum, most folks like to be very binary (gay vs. straight). When the truth for a lot of people is "somewhere in the middle." Thoughts?

FWIW: I'd bet serious money that at 6:10 we see none other than Harvy Milk, famous for many reasons. (Wikipedia can explain his significance in the struggle for GLBT+++ rights.)

1:19 supposedly str8 fishermen will give up fishing to try and reaffirm that they don't REALLY have Gay feelings. 2:05 stud on right sets Gay hearts aflutter including mine. I 💯% guarantee you he has had Gay experiences. Will save this and if my courage increases I will order. We really need to be visible and NOT invisible as heteros want us to be.

@@CollidePress Clint, we don't have a Memorial Day the same as you. We have Armistice celebrations to commemorate all the fallen from both WW and all the other conflicts since. The official day is the 11 November at 11am The official remembrance service and parade of veterans falls on the closest Sunday to the 11 November. It's televised live. I'm sure you will have some knowledge off this important part of 🇬🇧 history. Of course with the 80th anniversary of D Day coming up on 5&6 June there are several planned TV events to mark it. Similar to the one I told you about of the War correspondents and official invasion film cameramen. I do hope you can find a way to stream it. As your in media(?) I think it would be watchable for you.
