It is something AI can’t do for you. 😂 Please use your hands and brain too 😎
@NitehawkeАй бұрын
@Hugo_DenOuden you miss the point. Too many people now see real work as beneath them and take no pride in it. So they do the bare minimum and it shows. You know life has gotten too easy when watching skill and dedication to good work is worth watching. Some people should take note.
@Hugo_DenOudenАй бұрын
@@Nitehawke What I mean is that we should still value and continue to practice craftsmanship, talents and fun. I am in favor of utilizing talents and craftsmanship. Especially in a niche in which no desk or computer is central. I don't think life has become easier with AI and technology. Nice features, but sometimes the essence of real life escapes me. Keep it simple. Technology can be practical, but it can also be one that we get sucked into. Practicing a real profession and using your hands is also a nice link between your brain, heart and hands. It stimulates creativity, makes you solution-oriented, and in my opinion, more autonomous and free. Without a computer doing ALL of that for you. I think I don't miss the point IMHO ;-) I teach my children that they can do anything later. But at the very least, make sure that you can ALSO patch a bicycle tire, fix a water pipe and have a nice hobby so the talents don't leak away from your soul. ;-)
@NitehawkeАй бұрын
@Hugo_DenOuden agreed. I wish it were just automation, though. Here this guy makes a pair of work boots look almost new again but the 20-something guy who works at McDonald's can't even land a piece of cheese inside the sandwich. I've worked several occupations - sub/pizza shop, insurance office, restaurant, road maintenance, road construction, dump truck driver, home oil delivery and vending, to be specific. I took pride in my work in every one of those jobs. It just seems like people do the bare minimum now and much of what they produce is an embarrassment.
@sorarockss9322 күн бұрын
@@Nitehawke That's probably because the guy working at McDonalds is depressed due to the low wage he's getting. While this guy is doing this because it's his passion. He made his hobby into something that gives him really good income, which I assume considering the large amount of views he's getting.

You know, I notice with the few things men can do to look nice are all done with pride and skill. Like, think about barbers. They're very skilled and give a lot of care. Men don't get a lot of self care services, but the ones you do have are all nice.
@Mr-Trox29 күн бұрын
@@wareforcoin5780It helps that this makes a good pair of boots last longer. It's relaxing, and has a practical purpose. Even the most blue collar taciturn working man can justify a good shoe shine when his work boots cost a couple hundred dollars.

I'm sorry but watching this just makes me think of the years i was in the military and how efficiently we'd put a shine on our boots. Crazy part is i learn all kinds of cool tricks for example floor wax puts one hell of a shine on boots, tossing your boots in the oven to heat the leather up a little bit does wonders. Bout 20+ years ago in the military wed see who could put a mirror finish on their boots, whats crazy is we'd work in these, scuff em up and shine the our boots all over again on the weekends. The lighter use brought back those kewi days in bootcamp lol.

Just wondering, wouldn't scraping the surface of the shoes with knife or nails hurting the leather materiel ?
@DelRaeАй бұрын
Depends on how much you’re taking off. I think he was only scraping the bare minimum surface that held the dirt and protective covering (wax, fat, ect.) which he added back later to refinish the shoe after cleaning. Leather is super good at taking a beating even if he did go too rough and it doesn’t just start like tearing apart or flaying unless you severely puncture tf out of it or tub tf outa one spot a lot. He was also applying a layer of wax or oil every time he scraped which probably worked similar to shaving cream when you shave.
