That seems like a quick little bow, would be interesting to see just how quick over a chronograph. Hope you connect on a bear, good luck and shoot straight.

WOOOOOW if I had half as much Talent as you I'd be a proud man. no way have I got the skill to make a bow like that or any kind of bow for that matter. you sir are a master bowyer. bent stick and a piece of string that's my skill.. saying that I did make 3 Flemish Twist bowstring's last night. just got to Serve them now. I will try one with monofilament fishing line. like the one you shown in one of your tutorial. I got say Im really proud of the 3 Strings I made. Don't no weather two put them on the bow's or put um in a picture frame they look like a piece of art?

I'm very excited to see your process on the take down section I've wanted a bow that I could fit in a pack better. did you Starr with a single stave and cut it then for the sleeve? I guess I'll see when you post your video, but I'm impatient what can I say.
@clayhayeshunter7 жыл бұрын
+J Jenkins yes, this was a one piece that I cut after tillering.
@jwjenkins4217 жыл бұрын

hi.. I am working on a taketown ash selfbow that i recently finished without any arrow shelf but for me, it's a little bit tricky to shoot without shelf. On this video, if i look close, there is a little one so, it may be possible for me :) my questioning is : how centershot the arrow shelf can be?
@larryreese61465 жыл бұрын
Emile, I'm not Clay and certainly dont have his expertise, but when you wrap your handle with leather, get a thicker piece of leather, shape it for a shelf, glue it on, then wrap over the top of it. As a matter of fact it works for a one piece stave bow too. That's how I make mine. I dont know how anybody could shoot consistently without a consistent arrow rest and a fixed knock point.

how long would you recommend a selfbow be for a 28-28.5" draw length? im using hickory if that helps.
@clayhayeshunter7 жыл бұрын
+sticks&stringz outdoors you should be good with 65 inches . Could probably make it shorter but it's a little more risky. Shorter hickory bows will just take more set.
