One strategically placed microphone, doesn't have to be fancy at all, any small diaphragm condenser at all really, and a second mic (again doesn't really matter what as long as it's somewhat decent) in the kick is dramatically going to improve the sound. I'd suggest a pair of Behringer C2 mics, 55 euro, if you're in europe, and a basic audio interface with 2 mic pre's, something like the M-Audio M-Track DUO which is also 55 euro. Place the first C2 in the middle of your kick drum, the second on a mic stand over your shoulder pointing roughly at the snare. A little tweaking with some eq and compression, perhaps some reverb, and your sound has dramatically improved for only 110 euro. There is a giant catch, at least if you're like me in my early days. You'll try to keep improving the sound and think you need more and more expensive stuff for that. Don't make the same mistakes I made and a lot of other people make. This 110 euro bundle is going to be more than plenty until you *really* understand equalization, compression, and *really* understand the basics of acoustics.

ive already bought 2 mics recently they are coming soon, i got a shure-SM57 and a shure-SM58 one i was planning on placing above the kit and one close to the kick. i am also upgrading all my cymbals except my ride symbol. im planning on moving my bed too so that i can stand both of my microphones on some microphone stands around the kit. the mics will go into a mixer i am also getting so i can toggle with effects like reverb and eq like you said and volume adjusters.

@@CoatDrummer15 lovely! Like I said my advice would be one over your shoulder instead of a "classical" overhead, but by all means, experiment!! The other you can get a tiny mic stand and put it in the hole of your kick, or just downright laying it inside without the stand at all, again experiment and see what you like. Very curious to see future video's and how things have changed (:

@@CoatDrummer15 One last addition, if you ever upgrade to two overhead mics (I'd advice condenser) look into Glyn Johns drum mic position. It's the best 3 mic setup if you ask me, and in a LOT of situations all that's required. I love how it sounds
