I am a christian...I'm well aware of this songs more critical message of religion. That being said, I still love the hell out of this song and appreciate the artists work. I've always been someone to attempt to accept everyone no matter what choices they make, and so I'm not really offended by this song and honestly am happy it got a cover by my favorite cover artist caleb. Keep up the good work, and lastly I'd like to make a request Genesis or great time to he human by jagwar twin an incredibly underrated artist that has quickly become one of my favorites. (I have no idea if these requests have actually been seen but after hells comin with me, its worth a shot.)

@@bakerfelix8874 I have gay friends and in the bible it literally says to love your enemies(even tho I'm not really enemies with the artist of the og song) as you would a brother or yourself. Therefore it makes no sense for me to get upset at an artist for making music to reach an audience that they consider friends or family. It'd be like getting mad at my brother for deciding to be nb or gay, like as a christian...I might have some worries or problems but if their happy then I support them like their my brother. That love wouldn't change no matter what, and a lot of christians don't get this.

Not bad at all, but I feel like the main issue I take with modern rock/metal style covers in general is that there's so much focus on the vocal stylization that a lot of emotion is muddied or lost in favor of making the piece sound harder. I LOVE the slight recontextualization & focus on the more sinister lyrics, but I also feel like it sounds too... clean? Clinical? Considering the subject matter? A lot of the original obsession & desire & eroticism are lost in this, despite very solid vocals & instrumentals.
