These devs are actually insanely good. They rewrote the entire engine render pipeline to allow each and every enemy to be controlled by the gpu. And they switch out assets from non interactble to interactable assets and meshes on the fly when you attack them. I assume they are doing the same for the building structures now. If only all devs were this good at render optimization

Sort of a big difference though you can also command troops or have sergeants command them or portions of them. And I imagine the enemy will feel much different than a dumb horde of zombies with cavalry archers and knights all coming at you and your men at once along with trebuchets I imagine.

I've wanted a game like this for so many years man. It started out with me wanting to be a modern soldier during Civil War era and just slaying .. but this medieval background is fucking amazing. It's definitely getting my money.

The gameplay loop sounds great for this. Apparently you start out in like an apocalyptic world with very little, but you keep going back in time, fighting these battles then returning to the present to (hopefully) get better technology if you changed history for the better.. which is really amazing. I've seen some brief clips that suggest by the end you have laser guns and hover tech.
